3 good hunts for the boys, only 1 crane short of 3 limit out hunts. Next up will be late season honkers and mallards, November 15-December 15.

Good couple mornings hunting rib eyes. The banded bird wore off the metal band and had half the tarsal band wore through. Be interesting to hear the age. Time for a quick nap and back out with Sierra for an afternoon crane shoot!

September 1 and bird opener! I've missed only 4 opening days since 1991, but this one just might be the best one yet and I didn't even pull the trigger. I can't even guess how many cranes I've brought to the gun since I started out here, but it's well into the thousands. This morning I found the best 5 I will ever call in. Wyatt and I had ring side seats to Sierra killing her first limit of lawn darts. Took a few flocks to shake off the crane fever, but once she got the dust out the cranes were in trouble. She went from a nervous kid to a killer in a half box of 20ga 2's.

Strange times we are living in, hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. In light of the US border closures, I have cancelled the regular 2020 fall season. I am extended the early September crane/duck hunts that I have been doing for a few years, for Canadian residents. This is prime time to shoot the rib eye of the sky! I have opening September 2/3, 8/9, 10/11 and 12/13. This is a guided only hunt, consisting of a morning crane hunt with the option of adding afternoon duck...s. Hunters are responsible for accommodations, meal and bird cleaning. I am opening up our sizable yard for guys to bring their campers or 5th wheels(no hook ups). The cost of the hunt is $250 for the morning cranes and $150 for afternoon ducks. I can't guarantee limit out opportunities on cranes, but every group that has done this hunt has limited out.
