Labour day weekend has passed and I felt a void in the town of Cochrane. I have been busy with Lucky Penny Pizza but dam I missed the rodeo this year, I always looked forward to being in the ring with my camera dodging bulls and broncs, getting a rough time from the announcers, the odd sneak attack from the arena clowns, visiting behind the chutes and catching up with friends from far and wide. Hi everyone, I have been fairly silent lately with the posts. First I cannot thank Cochrane enough for all the support, my days start at 7:30am and end at 11pm ...sometimes later. As I watch Lucky Penny Pizza come to life I can honestly say I would not change a dam thing over the past six months. The night of March 4th this year and two weeks before Covid hit I launched this project in hopes of paying some bills and as I look back now I realize the past six months have been a blur. NEVER count yourself out, hard work, stubbornness, and a little bit of crazy all mixed together will get you through anything. I am now ready to offer the first of seven daily specials and naturally I will offer wings. If you have ever worked with me you will know I am extremely stubborn about the quality of the wings I serve. Lucky Penny Pizza will be serving what is know as an 8-10 count wing, meaning it only takes 8-10 of them to make the 16oz mark, or a true pound. Weighed and portioned you will get a true pound of wings served to you. I have put together the most popular flavors I have worked with and am also open to suggestions. Stop in tomorrow night or any Wednesday night in the future as Wednesday nights will officially be the Lucky Penny Wing night. Thanks again everyone, I look forward to seeing you. Here is a quick update, I had to fire Telus as they have been over a month attempting to get phones into the building, that was a little disappointing as I assumed Telus is a company that supplies phones, but that being said, I got ahold of shaw and they have me booked in for this afternoon, thank you Elizabeth from shaw you have helped me so much. Bar height chairs have been ordered, I will have the first 25 of 52 onsite by weeks end next week. My new Point of Sale system has been purchased and is set to arrive any day, this is a cloud-based system and I will be able to integrate a hot food order section that is the web-based meaning you can order pickup or delivery directly from your phone and a work order ticket goes straight to my kitchen. Hi everyone, I am starting the process of stocking the liquor for Lucky Penny Pizza. Beer, Wine, spirits, coolers etc. I am a little out of the loop on what is ...popular nowadays as I have been so absorbed with this place lately, I am looking for some input so I can be sure to have your favorites. I do not want to go down the trending drinks path but rather the old school favorites and drinks we all love. So the question is What is your favorite drink? I know some of my friends will say "My 7th because it makes me witty and more attractive" but I honestly need to know your "go-to" drink ........ :-) Thank you everyone, it is coming together.

Great news! The 14" hot pizzas are now available on Skip The Dishes, delivery, and pickup. These pizzas are massive and will feed a family for sure. It has been... a busy week food-wise and I barely have to time to get any office work done but the ball is rolling and I was furniture shopping for the place yesterday. My bar height tables (13) are all in place and chairs are about two weeks out as they are being custom built. Thank you for everyone that has stopped by to check the place out and pick up their pizzas both frozen and hot it is so nice to be back with the public after four months of isolation in a kitchen. For those that grew up in Cochrane, you will recog...nize that name from the A1 diner, and the Lattice fries were a favorite of mine at Joe Baileys and called "Diver Fries". Now that I am able to really get the kitchen working for my customers I can expand my menu a bit to the all-time classic favorites of this amazing little town. This is the first of three burgers I will be offering. Releasing on Monday, August 4th. These burgers will be added to the skip menu and be available for phone-in orders as well. There is an old expression "it takes a vill...age to raise a child" well I can testify that the same is true with a business. How adorable is this story? I think fridge art is something every household should have and it truly makes my day when I find a hand drawn work of art taped to... a door with a thank you message for pizzas. During Covid this was a common form of communication but I will be honest, there were a few days when I was so exhausted and on the brink of tears that a hand drawn message from a little one would recharge my batteries instantly and remind me that the storm would pass. A few weeks ago I started adding a Lucky Penny to all my takeout menus....... just before I did that little Brynn had ordered her favorite pizzas along with her family and just missed receiving the new take out menu in their package. Yesterday I dropped off their pizzas, and I see this note with a Lucky Penny attached to it and once again I grinned all the way home. I got a message from her father saying Brynn was over the moon excited to see the Lucky Penny on the menu and I laughed as I typed and said "great minds think alike".
