The Office of Human Rights and Equity (OHRE) is facilitating an online discussion session on systemic racism These past few weeks, we have seen a number of voices across the globe come together in the condemnation of systemic racism. The death of George Floyd in the United States and Chantel Moore in New Brunswick has not only sparked outrage abroad but also here in Canada as we are forced to examine our own history of systemic racism and colonialism that continues to impact ...Indigenous, Black and racialized communities. Join us to engage in a discussion moderated by Dr. Rita Shelton Deverell and members of the OHRE’s Anti-racism Advisory Committee, Vicki Monague and Rudy Grewal. When: Thursday, June 18, 2020 from: 3:00 5:00 p.m. Where: Zoom https://lakeheadu.zoom.us//tJMtduCtqTwiH9Y54bFyrpBcelqZJse The OHRE thanks LUSU, Indigenous Student Support Services, Student Health and Wellness and Lakehead University International for their support of this event. All members of the University community are welcome, including students, faculty, and staff. We strongly encourage members who self-identify as Indigenous, Black and racialized to attend. If you have any questions about this event or registration please contact Amna Siddiqui at [email protected]
