This is what happens when collaboration space is improved! Congrats to teachers at BES for taking advantage of the new elementary school design to enhance student learning.

In my opinion, you need to Listen and Ask Tough Questions to be a successful School Trustee. A perspective to consider when voting today. It is not easy, but with your vote, I can help improve our schools! http://www.asbj.com//7-Signs-of-Effective-School-Board-Mem

If you are planning on voting, bring a buddy or two - or ten! Everyone - no matter what voting age - will be impacted by our public education system. With your continued support, as School Trustee, I can help make them even better: more student support and learning opportunities, greater evidence of student s...uccess (results), better financial sustainability and a place where parents and the community feel welcome, heard and engaged. Over the last two years as a School Trustee, I have worked diligently, with the board, to improve our schools for the students, staff and the community. We have great momentum! I hope to earn a second term address some challenges and further progress. Below are some attributes I bring to the board: Vision: I bring forward new ideas and deliver results. An example of this is the progress towards the realization of the Banff Hospitality Tourism Institute. This institute will re...sult in a win/win/win: enriched education for the students, increased learning opportunities for the community and ultimately better experiences for our visitors. Backbone: I am tough, but fair and will always ask the hard questions and hold leadership accountable. Business acumen: I create new opportunities to increase financial sustainability. I will need your support to be re-elected. Please like and share this page! AND vote on Monday, October 16th!

Do your kids come home excited to talk about what they learned at school? If so, this is a great indicator of student learning. If not, let's talk so we can figure out how to make this happen! Affordable Housing and Great Schools are the foundations of a strong community. Last night at the All Candidates Forum in Banff there was unanimous support from council candidates for affordable housing. Now is the time to make your vote count for a better Banff: vote for School Trustees (same times and location as municipal elections) and secure a better future for the kids of Banff. We can and will improve educational opportunities and learning outcomes for students and community at large! For more information on how we can achieve this, please feel free to view my previous posts on this page (or message me directly) covering learning, teaching, outcomes and funding. Great schools are key and I need your support to help make this happen! Please VOTE, like and share this page.

Here is a great example of Real World Learning at Banff Elementary School. This is what happens when teachers become advanced designers of learning (what the Teacher Effectiveness Framework is all about) - very cool! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co877h7Kn_Y
