Today, February 4, 2021 is World Cancer Day. An estimated 19 million new cancer cases occurred in 2020 with about 10 million deaths. These numbers are estimated that by rise exponentially in 2040 to 30 million new cases and over 16 million cancer-related deaths. It is therefore important to continue to support cancer research and to raise awareness of all types of cancers. Congratulations to Lukong Lab Ph.D. trainees Dr. Sayem Miah and Dr. Raghuveera Goel. Dr. Miah recently obtained a tenure-tracked Assistant Professor position at UAMS cancer center, Little Rock, Arkansas.
