This is my future sister-in-law @kaeleigh This makeup was for her engagement photos with my brother and these photos are taken in natural light with no edits. Lighting is SO important. Lighting in the apartment was actually pretty poor, so the makeup started off a little heavy (I had been too lazy to set up my light...). Bridal trial on my gorgeous friend @aleksanin1605 #noedits Aleksandra has a unique style: classic with a European touch and a dash of edge. For the makeup I tried to emulate that, going for a soft halo eye and a deep rose lip. She normally only wears tinted moisturizer, so we opted for medium coverage, which does mean her tiny bit of melasma on the forehead does show through a touch.. this is because more coverage has the trade off of a lot more texture. . Looking at this..., there are a few adjustments I will make the day of (this is the purpose of trials!!). I will take a little more care to neutralize her dark circles so they don't have a subtle green cast, and will probably define a little more under the eyes with a slate tone. I will also do a bit more of a liner base for the individual lashes . This is how I've been doing my makeup for wedding jobs... it helps to have my face (or rather 'eyes' since I wear a mask...) as a reference for people. So I can ask relative to what I am wearing, whether they want more or less makeup. When people describe the kind of makeup they want, you have to have a reference point. My beautiful client here requested natural bridal makeup that was more on the matte side and long-wearing Product details below! (Also can I just point out there is nothing in her eyebrows ) ||COMPLEXION|| @danessa_myricks vision cover cream in W01 + N 4.5. In the centre of the face I mixed a bit of @faceatelier "Ultra Matte" an amazing mattifier that extends length of wear. Skin was prepped using @jordanliberty technique for longwear, using @lauramercier translucent po...wder and @maccosmetics fix plus setting spray ||EYES|| She normally only wears mascara and wanted to look like herself, just more lifted, so we used @nudestix 'Moon' as a vanilla base, with a white cream in the inner corner to open the eyes, adding definition in the crease with a midtone camel-taupe. A champagne was popped in the inner corner, and edges softened with a cool toned bronze. Liner was @Maybelline gel liner I black, softened with an angle brush. Lashes were 10mm individuals, however for the day of the wedding we are going to go longer! (11 or 12mm). ||CHEEKS|| Sculpted with @bobbibrown bronzer in 'Medium'. Blush is @narsissist 'Orgasm' mixed with a bit of the peaches from @viseart ... glow is a champagne plus one of my favorites @meltcosmetics highlighter in 'Genesis' (a vibrant peach gold) ||LIPS|| Her lips naturally have a lot of pigment, so we chose a colour a half shade darker than her natural. TIPS on how to overline your lips (swipe for visual tips): If you don't want to, you don't have to! I only sometimes do it when I want to look a touch poutier ;) Usually we want lips to look fuller not *wider*, so focus on overlining lipliner just outside your lipline on the bow of the lip, and in the centre of the bottom lip. I did not overline between the "peaks" of my upper lip, because I wanted a more shapely feel.. but if you wanter a mpre Angelina shout, you c...ould do the peaks a bit rounder and overline between them as well. Choose a liner a half shade darker than the lipstick you're going to wear (probably also a little cooler, so it looks a bit like a shadow). My favourite liner for this is "Foxy" by @meltcosmetics These are general tips, some lip shapes may require more lining on the sides, for example if the lips aren't balanced. Mother of the Groom from this weekend #noedits #nofilter There's always this weird narrative floating around which says that as you get older, you need makeup... I find the opposite to be true, especially when it comes to skin! Instead focus on product placement and colour selection. Here we focused on:... . correcting dark circles (the estee lauder double wear liquid concealer is my favourite for mature skin. Use the one of their 'cool colours to cancel brownish grey dark circles) . brightening and lifting the eyes by using some individual 8mm lashes and a navy eyeliner (makes the whites of the eyes whiter). . adding life to the skin by using a pink cream blush (puff by @glossier) and a nice pop of colour on the lips. A colour this bright is necessary to brighten the skin BUT for a wedding/party it is nice to have a little extra fun. Foundation was @faceatelier mixed with @danessa_myricks illuminating veil in 'Radiance'. Under eye darkness was counteracted with @danessa_myricks Vision cover cream 'W0...1'. |Cheeks/Glow/Contour| subtle contour was done with a deeper shade of Face Atelier foundation. Blush is a mixture of @glossier Cloud paint in 'Haze' (a gorgeous raspberry) mixed with @chantecaille liquid lumiere in 'Lustre' (a glowy liquid peachy gold). These cream products are perfect for an evening backyard wedding to look naturally radiant. This was topped with a variety of shades from @diormakeup Backstage Glow palette '001' |Eyes| Soap brows using Pears soap and @anastasiabeverlyhills pomade in blonde. For a base I used @maccosmetics paint pot in 'bare study' plus their liner in 'Costa riche'. Shadows were a variety of champagne, bronze and neutral bronze (I depot them so I am unsure of the colours..). Liner was @maybelline and lashes were 11mm individuals. Liner underneath is @glossier eyeliner in 'sparkle shark' (my favourite for subtle definition under the eye) |Lips| were @bobbibrown Pale Pink with some gloss. So it seems people want to see product details for my bridal looks Heads up that individual powder eyeshadow names will be hard to share because I depot and consolidate them into a separate palette.. but if you want a palette suggestion to achieve a similar look just DM me! Now onto how I achieved this look on the beautiful Breanne . . . So for this bridal look, I just wanted to enhance Breanne's natural beauty. She likes her freckles so I took care not to cover them whi...le neutralizing the very minimal redness most people have in the center of the face. For low maintenance brides who don't normally wear a lot of makeup, I will also choose products that are easy to touch up -- in this case, a sheer creamy lip you can touch up easily without really looking or using a brush (dark and/or matte tones usually require you to look in a mirror and fill in the lips with care... and long wear liquid lipsticks tend to get dry and flaky and for people who don't wear a lot of makeup they are usually difficult to put on). |Complexion| Prepped with hydrating products, and BEFORE foundation, powdered in the t zone with @lauramercier transluscent powder then primed with @smashboxcosmetics (check out @jordanliberty for this technique). Foundation was the very sheer and glowy @glossier skin tint with @danessa_myricks vision cover cream under the eyes and very sparingly used in the centre of the face. |Contour, Blush & Glow| I added some dimension to the face using @bobbibrown bronzer in medium and blush was @viseart rose/coral palette (the light and mid tone peach) topped with @diormakeup backstage glow highlighters (used several shades). |Lips| @maccosmeticscanada cremesheen lipstick in 'Nippon'. Her lips have a lot of pigment naturally, so it makes the lip colour show up far deeper and brighter than it would on someone with naturally more nude lips. A video showcasing a few of the things I am doing to keep you and myself safe A few key measures: |BRUSHES| Between clients I use @cinemasecretspro brush cleaner which is an antimicrobial disinfectant followed by a thorough spray of 70% alcohol (Any higher and the alcohol evaporates too quickly to properly sanitize). These are left to sit for at least 10 minutes. Between jobs brushes are shampooed with an anti bacterial soap used by Healthcare workers. . |TOOLS| Stainles...s steel spatula and palette are used for scooping product, this is to ensure there is no double dipping and they are easily disinfected. I have also been trying out wax paper for scooping product on to, this way I can just throw it out. I am also using whatever disposables I can. I have found some great 1 time use lip and eyeliner brushes and then of course sponges, q tips and mascara wands are great . |ME| I will be wearing a mask and also have the option of a face shield should you prefer it. Also hand sanitizer is my best friend and my hands will be washed between clients. My station will also be sanitized with lysol or alcohol pre and post set up . Rediscovered @narsissist Velvet Gloss Pencil in "New Lover" I keep meaning to branch out from the cooler lipsticks into warmer, but unless it is a fire engine read I am just not into it (on myself anyways hehe). My complexion is actually *very* yellow, so the cool blushes and lips help to keep me from looking too sallow I also keep meaning to take photos of myself with my camera instead of my phone camera..but alas, setting up my camera for a selfish feels weird. I really miss doing makeup during this pandemic... I have never really felt rewarded doing makeup on myself, so I feel like I'm kind if sitting around fading away. I do a lot of bridal makeup but I probably don't post it enough. A big reason for this is because often the images have a filter that doesn't highlight the makeup/skin, is taken from far away, or I just forget to ask for them! (This photo however is amazing) .
