The LUNA trip shed smells absolutely amazing!! Outfitting has been repurposed this holiday season as a spot for me to make holiday decorations. One of the many things this pandemic has taught me, is that you always have to keep learning and recreating yourself in order to continually move forward. It’s truly done wonders for my mental well being. #create #art

Back in the early days of guiding when Luna would join me on almost ever trip. I have such fond memories of this trip on the Mississagi River and still share stories from this adventure. Thanks for the memory Facebook. This was one awesome trip!!

First time in 15 years that I haven’t been out on this trip. Really missing our LUNA crew this morning and all of our young trippers in training. #thankscovid #algonquin

In 1980, famed Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot took a canoe trip that would later inspire his song, "Canary Yellow Canoe". His canoe, full of scars earned on that trip, tells a story of friendship and adventure!

2020 Business Update - Covid-19 Response As I sit within the deep embrace of the old forests at LUNA, a gentle breeze softly rustles the forest canopy above. The late evening sun drips to the forest floor as the earth once again gets ready for another evenings slumber. Back in 2002 when LUNA was first being slowly revealed to me, much of my time was spent trying to create the perfect painting for those visiting LUNA to experience. ... Each and every individual that ventured into the wilderness with us, left me with a internal quest to improve that experience for our next guests. A curve in the trail here, a bench to pause and enjoy the view over there, a half built survival shelter off in the distance to lure one deeper towards discovery. A painting that one could truly become lost within. Little did I know at the time how consuming this quest would become. The eternal quest to improve an already perfect moment in time. The trails at the project are a little more wild these days, the classroom much quieter without the constant chatter from another visiting class, and the few canoes we have left are still perched on their wooden racks in outfitting. I still wander the trails here at LUNA, more so the fields these days, still trying to improve that perfect vision of tomorrow. But this great pause in time of the pursuit for more, has suddenly forced my internal vibration and quest to gradually soften. Each and every day of this pandemic I’m slowly learning to move just a little bit slower. Everything needed to sit and be quiet for a short time in order for everything to begin to heal. Including ourselves. From the beginning I believed that if ever there was a point in time that any part of The LUNA Project was feeling stressed from too much activity, too much use, or visitation....then I would simply close that area and give it the time it needed to heal. Never once did I ever apply that rule to my own self. For this reason, we have made the decision that The LUNA Project and LUNA Adventures will remain closed for all outdoor educational programs, overnight accommodations, guided wilderness trips, and site rentals until April 2021. In this time, we’ll be sure to continually be here for you, to answer your questions, and to help you plan your next big adventure or retreat for 2021. Our hope is also to also offer a safe and sacred space for Heal Evolve Thrive to offer their teacher training this fall at LUNA, at a time when this is so deeply needed. We feel that this decision is the best thing we can offer to keep everyone safe during this time and to give everything the space it needs to begin to heal. We so look forward to welcoming you all home to LUNA again as we reopen feeling refreshed, calm and clear in April 2021. Stay well everyone, stay safe, and please try to take this pause in time to do just that...pause and reflect on what truly is important in this world. Much Love, David and Trish

Missing my boy a lot during these days of quarantine...but also really missing getting ready for #canoe #tripping season. Not too sure what this year will hold for tourism companies, camps and outdoor ed centres, but I'm sure it won't be an easy road for any of us. Very grateful however to have the farm to keep my mind and body occupied. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay home and hopefully I'll see you in on a portage trail again soon. #timbershome #lunaadventures #wereinthistogether ** Picture from 2018 at Jessup's Campground on The Madawaska River with Timber. Although it may have been difficult to say goodbye to our long lasting fleet of Royalex #NovaCraftCanoe 's, I'm so thrilled and excited to know their adventures are still continuing. These pictures are from the Pinchgut River in #Newfoundland. Thank you so much for sharing Josh, we hope your new canoe takes you on many exciting adventures long into the future. If you've recently purchased one of our fleet, please send a picture of you and your canoe on your next adventure. #lunaadventures #foroutdooruseonly #guideslife

During this difficult time, try to take this opportunity to bond deeply with those around you. Talk, share and tell stories...maybe conduct a simple "Rose and Thorn" after your dinner and before everyone goes off to bed. Remember: - Rose - is the highlight of your day...the flower that stood out most for you above everything else. You may have many. - Thorn - is something that may have challenged you a bit today, something maybe that was hard or difficult for you. Some ...days you may have many, and some days you may have none. Most of all...focus on all that is beautiful in this world. We have so much to be grateful for. Paddle safe through these uncertain times, there may a difficult portage to tackle, but the lake on the other side was worth every bug bite and difficult step you endured. Much love from us at Luna. #convid19 #staythecourse #brace #wevegotthis

Only one 16' Royalite Canoe still in need of a good home. I'll admit, I'm a bit sad to see these ones go, but happy to see that they've all gone to loving homes. #royalite #novacraftcanoe #lunaadventures
