What made you want to make the swap to cloth, or makes you curious about making the change? We recently chatted with a friend, who made the switch to cloth because no other pads were absorbing well enough for her. Once she switched to cloth, she was more comfortable, she didn't feel bad about using so many pads (since there isn't any waste!) and she felt confident in the health benefits of not having plastic or chemicals close to her skin! There really are limitless benefits and reasons for why you should make the swap to cloth. If you would like more information, send us a message! You guys are all used to seeing our double zip bags, but pretty soon we are going to be offering a smaller, single zip bag! This is a great size to use when you're out and about, or to have in your purse or bag as a backup! The small size (around 4"6") means it fits anywhere, without taking up too much room! Nothing goes to waste! We take great care to use every piece of material we can. We start out by purchasing fabric and cutting out as many pads as possible from that piece. Then, the odd shaped pieces are either made into dry wet bags or turned into our Luna Makeup Rounds! After everything possible has used, we bag up all of our fabric scraps and take them to a local thrift store, who sends them away to be utilized in stuffing for furniture! Every little last piece is used, minimizing waste and creating products that you can feel good about using! What do you think about our manufacturing process? At the beginning of Lunaluv, we were hand stitching snaps on, one at a time. Yes. Hand sewing them on. Needless to say, it didn't take long before we realized we needed a better option. We were scared of doing a bigger snap - we didn't want anything big and clunky that would inhibit comfort or function. After giving it a trial run though, we realized that the plastic snaps kept things in place, they were easy to use! and best of all, comfortable! Making products that are hig...h quality and work the way you need them to is one of our top priorities. We are constantly evaluating and experimenting to figure out what works best! Lunaluv started out as just pads. Pretty basic, just a liner and a regular, and a heavy. Then a few weeks later we experimented with an overnight design, and then adjusted our product line to have some more options and better features. (More about those another day!) Soon after we started, we realized there was a market for nursing pads! We had the technology and materials, so why not make those too! We love our nursing pads - all of us in the Luna family are finished nursing... our babes, but it wasn't too long ago that I could tell you how much of a lifesaver these were. They saved my shirts and expensive nursing bras from being damaged, were discreet and above all, SUPER comfortable, especially in those first days when you're just trying to get the hang of things! We have them available in this beautiful floral, but have a variety of other patterns available if you're looking for something custom made! Give us a shout! I'm absolutely in love with our newest flannel! We source high quality fabrics for our pads - often we love a print but the quality of the flannel isn't soft enough or the cotton feels too stiff. Those get left at the store and we source better options! All our fabric is purchased locally and prewashed before we work it up into pads. Are you looking for a unique Valentines Day gift? We have just the thing! Our massage candles are incredible - the more I use it the more I love it! It pours on warm and soft, and has a great glide without being too slippery or running all over. Because it's made out of soy wax, cocoa and shea butter, it works as an intense moisturizer instead of being greasy. ... Message us to order! 12 Days of Lunaluv: Day 5 Regulars! Perfect for those regular to moderate days, our regular pads have one absorbent cotton or bamboo layer in them. The top fabric can be flannel or cotton - your choice! Each pad has a waterproof backing to ensure nothing can get through that shouldn't, all the while staying breathable to make sure you stay comfortable.... Our Regular pads are 8.5" long. Exciting news! NEW PRODUCT ALERT! We are in the process of creating and testing some postpartum pads. You know those massive diaper like pads they give you at the hospital to come home in? The ones that literally fill up your garbage can because they're so huge? Never again!... Think soft cotton flannel. Think absorbant, naturally antimicrobial bamboo lining. 12 Days of Lunaluv: Day 4! Liners We have experimented endlessly to find a liner that works the best and is something that you want to wear. Each of our liners has a waterproof inner lining, with cotton or cotton flannel on either side. We found with the fabric being on both sides, there is less chance of the liner moving or shifting when in use. ... Every liner has a heavy duty snap to secure it, and folds into a tiny discreet square for storage or after it's been used. Our liners are 6" long but we have done custom sizes if you feel this is a bit on the smaller side for your needs. We've got yet another project we have been working on! After working on the formula for a while, we are going to soon be offering massage candles as part of our regular lineup! These melt super smoothly and can be poured directly onto your skin. The oil has a low melting point so it pours nice and warm, not scalding hot. Some of the ingredients include almond oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter and essential oils. Lightly perfumed, these are a great gift to yourself or for someone else! (Think Stocking Stuffer!) 12 Days of Lunaluv: Day 3! Massage Candle! (Check our IG story or the first comment below for a demo on how to use it!) This is a SUPER new product that we are really excited about! We experimented for a while to find a perfect combination of ingredients that wouldn't leave you too oily, or burn your skin on contact. Finally, we found the secret recipe! Our massage candles are a perfect blend of shea butter, soy, cocoa butter and almond oil. ... To use, simply light the candle and let it burn down a bit. You can blow out the flame or pour the candle while lit directly onto your skin. It's a warm, lightly scented oil that provides a great glide and moisturizes instead of leaving you feeling slippery. What a great way to relax this holiday season! We are unable to ship these at this time, but they are available for local delivery in Elkford, Sparwood, Fernie, Kimberly and Cranbrook!
