Another busy day at the ballpark. The fields have been cut out, and first load of shale has been dumped. Thanks to Mike Johnson and Sigfusson Northern for the skid steer work, and hauling of the shale.
Infields are being cut out, and dirt is being hauled soon. Exciting time at the new ball diamonds.
A big thank you goes out to Grant Sigfusson, as well as the RM of Coldwell for keeping the grass cut at the new ball diamonds. Hoping to get the infields cut out very soon.
The fields are staked for excavation! The shale will be added after excavation, as well as backstops, fencing, and dugouts.
The field is seeded and harrowed and it’s raining!! Now it just needs to grow!!
2 Diamonds pretty much picked, and 2 to go. We are trying to finish it tomorrow, so if you are available please come lend a hand. All help is welcomed and appreciated. The two diamonds to the west are still needing picked, but Blaine will most likely be there to provide direction. A special thanks to Roy Fortin and Kris Vigfusson for the help tonight.
Hi. If anyone is available today and would like to help out by picking some stones out at the new diamond facility it would be greatly appreciated. We have staked our 3 fields. We need to get rid of the larger stones (golf ball size and bigger) in the outfield areas. Do not worry about the infield areas has they will be skinned using machines. There will be a few of us out there tonight staking the last field but you are welcome to go there anytime today. Taking a few pails, rake and maybe a shovel would be an asset. There are bags out there to put the rocks in. Please let me know if you are going out there. Thank you!
There has been some work being done out at the new ball diamond facility! Rock raking and picking have started up. This weekend some work will be done using tractors and skidsteers. Once we are done with the machines we will need LOTS of volunteers out there to hand pick the remaining rocks so we can seed grass. We will post on this page once we are ready for volunteers. It could be in the next few days if things go great out there. We would really appreciate as much help as possible. Have a great weekend!
UPDATE on the ball diamonds! Our anticipated completion date for the diamonds is by this fall. We are currently waiting on the rock rake to be fixed. Once it is fixed and raked, we will be putting out a call to volunteers to help pick rocks.... Stay tuned!
Hi All! The Lundar Minor Ball board has created this page to keep the community updated on baseball in our community & the update on the new baseball diamonds that we are in the process of building. As of now, we are hopeful that we will eventually get to have a 2020 baseball season but we do not have a recent update or confirmation of this.... Please stay tuned for updates! Sincerely, Your Lundar Minor Ball board Blaine Fortin Breanna Rae Rory Tycoles Ryan Einarson April Godfrey Erin Fortin
