Hello Luv 4 Paws friends! We have been having more and more requests for an Amazon wish list and so here it is! We will continue to update this list as time continues, but right now there are a few things that would be very helpful for us. Most of these items will be used for our foster animals. We are especially short on leashes, collars, and harnesses for medium to large-sized dogs. Litter trays and the litter its self are other things we are becoming short on. Being a ...foster-based rescue we want to try to provide all the creature comforts for our animals in care while they are with their foster families. Please have a look and see if you can help us out through these donations. https://www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/1WID8P70U3YPD

FOSTERS NEEDED Good morning Our volunteers were busy travelling this weekend. We had drivers travelling in different directions to rescue. We have several new dogs in our care, which we are looking for foster homes . All dogs are good with other dogs great and with children, but would recommend a home with no cats. ... We are so lucky to travel as far as we did for some of these animals to bring them back to us here in Prince George. All animals need medical care and foster homes. If you can help us with foster support please send us a private message to use here on Facebook. If you would like to apply to foster please ask for a foster application. We have several more dogs waiting to come to us but our vehicles were full. If you can help by making a donation towards their medical care we would greatly appreciate it. Every $15 vaccinates an animal to protect them from disease and viruses. The surgery one of these dogs need is almost $1000. Thank you to the volunteers who donated their time to bring these beautiful souls into our loving hands! Donations can be made to [email protected] via e-transfer OR call Ospika Animal Hospital directly to make a donation on our account. Thank you for helping us give each of these animals a safe place and a future! We are so happy to be part of their journey to find a family Rescue Rocks

It is with great happiness and excitement that we are announcing that our long-term resident Pooh-Bear has moved into care with Team Pittie Party, another rescue organization in Prince George that specializes in the needs of Bully Breed dogs and is an advocate for the breed. We are proud to work with other rescue organizations in our own community and across the province to find our animals the best possible outcome and also lend a hand when needed!

Meet Stella! She is a 3 year old Blue Tick Coonhound. She is very sweet and loving, however, has some anxiety meeting new people and other dogs. Her way to deal with that anxiety is to howl loudly. Stella is very chatty! She needs someone with patience to help her see that the world isn’t a scary place, someone who understands hounds and doesn’t mind a hound barking, as this is very instinctual for them! Stella loves scent tracking and loves to have a job. She is a very... gentle playful girl who will need lots of exercise She would do best with an experienced dog owner who is familiar with the breed. Stella is good with other dogs we are not sure about cats, but feel she would most likely ignore them. Stella is waiting her spay appointment. Stella is vaccinated, dewormed, and has had her health exam. Her adoption fee is $425. If you are interested please send us an email at [email protected] and ask for a dog adoption application!

They are all on kitten kibble and have lovely appetites and no issues with using their litter box. They are now about 10 weeks old and ready to find... their forever homes! Please send us a private Facebook message OR let us know if you have an approved application on file. Adoption fee = $300; this fee includes first vaccinations, deworming, spay or neuter, microchipping and a full health exam from the vet!

Introducing Benny! Benny is a 6-year-old Chihuahua. This guy is a character who loves cuddling on your lap, but with some convincing will snooze on his overstuffed dog bed. Benny was surrendered to us after his elderly owner's health changed rapidly and was no longer to care for him. He is now with his lovely foster family and is looking for a loving forever home where he can be someone's best bud like he was with his previous owner. Benny is a big fan of belly scratche...s and enjoys laps around the block and sometimes a long walk of about 30 to 40 minutes. He enjoys treats and lots of cuddles from his foster family! On your lap is his favourite place to be. Benny is fine to be off-leash and interacts well with dogs (he doesn't seem to care about them). He does well with a slow introduction. Benny has the same reaction to children. If are to pick him up and cuddle him you have made an instant friend! He loves to sleep on the human's bed at your feet. He doesn't like to be left at home alone and would do well with someone who is home often or would like to have him tag along with them! Benny does enjoy car rides if it means he gets to sit on a human's knee. If you are interested in Benny, please send us a private Facebook message with your email address, OR let us know if you have a previous application on file. Adoption fee = $425. Benny will be up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, neutered, and will be having a teeth cleaning to brighten up his little smile!

LUV 4 PAWS Northern Animal Rescue 21.11.2020

The last few days have been hard ! We have been called over and over to help people who are overwhelmed with cats. By overwhelmed I mean by population, sick kittens, and the financial burden. I have struggled very much as to how to make this post. In regards of how to talk about the importance of spay and neuter and how to talk about pet ownership and the life long commitment it really is. I don’t wish to offend anyone but please please research before getting a pet and und...erstand what your getting yourself into the commitment you are considering making when you are being an animals into you household and life. The last few groups of cats we have taken in have been abandoned on peoples property, left behind in a move, or people just don’t spay and neuter causing overpopulation and unwanted kittens. All of these situations have ended up with us taking large numbers of cats and kittens, most of which are NOT in good health... We have just recently taken in a group of cats who were left to live in kennels for a period of time. The conditions of these cats is something I will not soon forget. (Will post video in comments). Along with this 2 mother cats with 11 kittens left behind in a property after people moved and left to fend for themselves. Many of these kittens and cats have needed immediate vet care. To be on medication for upper respiratory some are so sick (as seen below). She WILL loose her eye... Taking in all these cats is very taxing on us emotionally, however we can’t say no! Where would they go?! All rescues are full! But we feel, every animal deserves a chance and we will fight to make sure that happens. With that said all of these cats and kittens and fosters need a little help. We need supplies!! Bleach Clean blankets and towels Laundry soap Cleaning supplies Paper towel Cat toys Cat/kitten food Cat beds KMR kitten formula But most of all we need cash donations to treat these cats and kittens with antibiotics, eye drops, and pain meds. Please consider making a donation to Ospika Animal Hospital today. Instead of your Starbucks or Tim’s help an animal. Our current ospika bill is just over $5000 (as seen in photos) We need a holiday miracle to help us, to help the animals . Our volunteers Lisa, Anna, Amy and myself try everyday to be the best we can be to educate others and help one more and just one more , to date Luv 4 Paws has saved over 3000 lives. Help us save 3000 more by making a donation today you will keep an animal safe and help us keep fighting the good fight! Make a difference today by donating Donations can be dropped off at 2315 Churchill Road in the carport. You can call Ospika directly to donate on our account OR you can etransfer to [email protected] with the password rescue. Thank you all for your continued support we you all of our animals thank you.

I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest thank you to all of the amazing donors who supported Luv 4 Paws over the last year and holiday season. I am very lucky to have such amazing support. I had huge blessings and surprises all year, but was overwhelmed to have a very kind local businessman walk into Ospika Animal Hospital just before Christmas and pay off our bill in full at over $5000.00. This donor requested to remain anonymous. We were all blown away and in t...ears. We worked very hard all year to support our communities and this huge donation as well as all other donations made so much more possible. We had many other large donations made directly to Ospika Animal Hospital and we are ever so grateful. Prince George is an amazing city full of just as amazing citizens, which we are so proud and fortunate to be apart of and call home. I wish everyone an amazing 2021. It has started off super busy, having had several emergencies with serious injuries from eye removals to leg amputations... Rescue never sleeps! I can not tell you how much you all mean to me. I started Luv 4 Paws just a few years ago. As a small rescue that would help a few dogs a month has grown into a 4 gal operation, with LOTS of fosters. My core group of volunteers who help me have an incredible passion for animals. Myself and the animals are very fortunate to have such dedicated advocates. 2021 saw over 700 animals that we were apart of adopting, helping medically, or helping transfer to other rescues. We look forward to a healthy, safe and prosperous 2021! Remember: Be kind to one another Do something nice each day Say something nice each day Spread the luv, share the luv But most of all believe in yourself and know you can do anything! I did, and look what we have done Love, Andrea Sowers Founder of Luv 4 Paws Northern Animal Rescue

Meet Ryder! Ryder is a 1.5-year-old lab mix who is now looking for his FUREVER home. He is an active young guy who would do well in a household with another dog to be buddies with. Ryder was found at a bush camp by a couple of workers and after we located his owner he was surrendered to us. He was saved from spending the winter out in the forest, cold and hungry. Ryder has been adjusting well to city life and is fully house and kennel trained. Ryder is learning leash s...kills and basic commands (sit, stay, come). He enjoys hiking and jogging with his foster family. He would be a great outdoor adventure buddy and will require daily exercise! Ryder gets along well with other dogs, but we suggest a home with no cats and children above the age of 10 due to his larger size. Ryder is approximately 65 lbs and is an extremely gentle and loving soul. He began life with a rough start, but we are determined to give him the great life that he deserves. If you are interested in Ryder please send us a private Facebook message with your email address, OR let us know if you have an application on file with us. The adoption fee for adult dogs is $425 and includes full vaccination, deworming, microchipping, neuter/spay, and a full health exam from the vet.

They are approximately 8 weeks of age and have been in foster care in a household with children and other animals! They are all snuggley and playful kittens. Carla’s story: Carla was brought into care with us after being found by someone walking in a wooded area. She approached the woman and was in obvious distre...ss, but friendly. It’s Caturday once again! This week we have four adult cats who are looking for their FUREVER homes. All of these sweet faces are chill cats who are in foster homes with other animals and some with children. They were all brought to us for a different reason and we feel so fortunate to beable to help them in their journey to find LOVING families and their very own happy ending. Often older cats get over looked at rescues because people are often looking for a kitten...s. Many young cats (approx. 1 years old or younger) come into care with us. They are still playful and snuggly and have all the characteristics you may want in a feline friend. If you are interested in any of these beautiful cats please send us a private message with your email address for an application, OR let us know if you have an approved application on file. The adoption fee for adult cats (above 6 months of age) is $250. This includes full vaccinations, deworming, spay/neuter, microchipping, and a full health exam from the vet! More information about these sweethearts is included their individual photo captions.

Happy Caturday LUV 4 Paws friends! We are still looking for a home for these two cuties. Ali (orange) and Teslin (black) are a bonded pair who came into care with us a while ago and are ready to move into their FUREVER. Ali and Teslin are a bonded pair and we would like them to do adopted into a home together. Ali is an orange long-haired aged cat who loves to explore and be close to her human. She’ll follow you room to room all day, and will curl up beside you and purr.... Teslin is an all-black cat, who’s a little shy. As he warms up he’s know to love cuddling in your lap, with lots of snuggles and nowhere to go. They are okay with other animals but would do best in a home where they can be the centre of attention. If you are interested in Ali and Teslin please head up to Petland Prince George to view them there. Let's find these two a perfect FUREVER home.

With colder days upon us and more snow, we just wanted to take a moment to remind you of the dogs and cats who don’t just play in the snow. We want to remind you to think of the dogs and cats who live outside during the winter months. LUV 4 Paws has spent the year getting ready for winter. Gathering food and blankets for the animals, hoping to ensure there is enough food for them all and that they have something to keep them warm. We are still busy collecting donations of ...food and blankets for animals in need. If you want to be part of something amazing and make a difference help us feed these animals and keep them warm through the harsh winter months ahead. Our team will make sure the animals receive all your donations. Donations can be dropped at 2315 Churchill Road in the carport, or at our donation businesses Game Changerz VR and Petland Prince George. Winter preparation is an extremely valuable part of rescue, but our emergency vet care never stops! Today we have a dog flying into Prince George who has been hit by a car. They will be picked up from the airport and transferred directly to Ospika Animal Hospital where there they will receive urgent, live-saving medical care. Thank you LUV 4 Paws Community we LUV and appreciate all your support!

We would like to introduce you to these two very special ladies! Belinda (left) and Betty (right) came to us about a month ago and have been in a loving foster home so that we can get to know them a bit better! We are very happy to help them find a forever home! Betty is a fun, adv...enturous young cat who’s favorite activities include rubbing her face all over you and being the centre of attention! She is playful and active, yet she loves to curl up on your lap while you’re trying to get work done on your computer. Please join us in welcoming these sweet souls into our care These boys were found wandering forest service roads and hanging around a couple crew camps since August. We worked hard to locate their owners and since have had these boys surrendered. We are so thankful to the crews for feeding them and reaching out to us. ... Ryder and Finn arrived last night and ate and slept like they had not in a long time. We just wanted to give a shout out to all those who help and speak up, speak for those who can’t speak for themselves. Ryder and Finn would have continued to wander if their animal hero Emily would not have reached out! They could have become more lost, frozen,or been hit by big trucks. Thank you Emily, you saved 2 lives and we will forever be grateful you spoke up. Both of these boys will be vaccinated, dewormed, examed by our vet, neutered and then we will look for a FUREVER for them. As time goes by we will let you know what their assessment is as to what they would like for a forever family. Adoption fees will be $425 each. So far all we know they are sweet, gentle, easy going and are currently in a foster home with one of our volunteers who has dogs.
