Will it hurt? Everyone’s pain tolerance is a little different but topical numbing cream is applied, filler has a numbing agent in it and distraction techniques all help to alleviate discomfort. Will I bruise? Possibly so it is always a good idea to plan treatment well before any important social events and avoid any blood thinning products including alcohol, anti-inflammatory medications and certain vitamins in the week leading up to your appointment. Will I swell? Most... likely you will have swelling the day of your appointment which will be worse the next morning and can take a week or two to fully settle. Anti-histamines can help control swelling. Will I look like a duck? You should not except for the day after which is related to swelling. What should I avoid after? Exercise and makeup for 24 hours after. Dental appointments for 2 weeks before and after. Extreme heat , excessive pressure on lips during the healing period. I have had my lips done before, is it ok to use a different product? As long as you don’t have a permanent implant or filler and the previous work looks good you can add any of the HA fillers. If the previous lip filler doesn’t look good it is usually better to dissolve it and start again rather than try to work around it. Lip filler can restore lips that have lost hydration and volume as well as build up lips that are genetically smaller. Great question but Botox doesn’t actually fill anything. It softens or eliminates expression lines for a period of time by relaxing the muscles that are causing the wrinkles. It works great in the upper face for the right candidate. Filler on the other hand does fill lines and areas of volume loss but is not the best solution for forehead lines as the risks outweigh the benefits.
