First cardio session of 2021! For those of you who love to run or just simply break a sweat know the feeling and how good it feels for your body and mind. @ironbody and I had goals for 2020, some made it and some didn't, but we kept focusing on all the positives that came out of last year and there were many! We're looking forward to seeing all our clients back in action and a new photoshoot we're prepping for in spring. We often get asked if we indulge over the holidays?... The answer is YES we work hard and also allow ourselves to enjoy everything. But when you're not used to eating like this everyday, holiday meals = bloated days, especially when your cultures food consists of a lot of bread, cabbage rolls, sausages...etc lol So if you're experiencing bloating or water retention: Here are my fav tips to get rid of it: Drink lots of water (8-12 cups a day) Include lots of fruits and veggies in your post holiday meals like berries and asparagus Drink dandelion tea 1-2x a day Sweat for 30-45 minutes the day after a holiday meal Let me know if it works!

Coping with Covid- 19 If you were also one to stress about gym closures this year, many of us could relate. Best advice? Don't give up, seek advice, and keep doing your best with what you have, without being hard on yourself. ... Read Sandy's story below: "In 2019, I started my fitness journey with Lux fit. I wanted to lose extra weight that I was carrying after having my daughter. They were great and within months I lost 10 points and up with the lean muscle, I stayed consistent and then covid happened. As of March 2020, I gained 20 pounds and was at my worst. Having gyms shut down, it took a toll on my mental health. Even though I had equipment at home, it just wasn’t the same. I felt sluggish, tired, just unmotivated to do anything so I ran to food for my own emotional comfort. I realized one day that I needed to get back into working out just for my own mental sake, I contacted Luxfit and they welcomed me with open arms. I learned how to eat intuitively and I am gaining confidence back. The most important thing you can do for yourself as a mom is self-care and investing in yourself. I have never felt so confident in myself and motivated to workout because I am seeing my close fit right and my minds clear. It’s been a great 6 weeks with Luxfit, they are turning my fitness journey into something exciting and fun! They give you motivating workouts to do at home, but the changes and overall health is unreal. On 1 month I was able to drop 10 pounds, with still being able to eat things I enjoy. Most of all, it’s helping with my own mental health. You have to discipline yourself and when that is accomplished, everything follows. It’s a trajectory and it will be conquered.Slow and steady." Thanks Sandy for sharing this story, we're proud of your accomplishments and the motivation you've gotten back! See more

Always smizing (smiling with our eyes) and trying to stay super motivated and cheery this winter season focusing on all things positive! Here are our 5 tips to staying workout motivated over the holidays: 1. Plan your workouts- be proactive and set aside dedicated time to workout rather than leaving your schedule up to chance. If you know for sure you can't exercise for a couple days, use those days as a recovery and rest from the gym, and then really up the intensity on the... workouts surrounding those busy days. If work and family events get busier, schedule out your weeks of workouts around those events. 2. Prioritize a workout first thing in the morning- especially if work and family commitments increase during the day. 3. Friend or Coach- Share your goals with someone else to help you stay accountable or get a workout partner or personal trainer. You'll be more likely to stay on track when you have someone to report to. 4. Don't skip out if your "time is limited"- so you planned a 45 min workout on Wednesday morning but something came up and now all you have time for is 20 min. You can start the workout and see how much you can get done in 20 min or up the intensity by just doing a hiit workout with the time you have. Try this HIIT bodyweight workout: 60 seconds skipping 10 burpees 60 mountain climbers 10 supermans 60 skaters 10 pushups Challenge yourself and see how many rounds of this circuit you can get though in 20 minutes! 5. Get your family involved - walking outside with your family or friends is a great way to get everyone moving while still sharing moments together. See more

Immunity boosting products and supplements are all the rave right now. Health has never been more of a priority than now for many of us. What's the best way to stay healthy and live longer? Yes you guessed it- its exercise! It's just as important as eating healthy.... I came across a study done by the Cooper Institute (Cooper Center Longitudinal Study) about the effects of exercise on cancer patients, specifically ones with lung and colorectal cancer. The study showed that cardiorespiratory fitness reduced their risk by 55% and 44%. That's incredible. Their results also showed that cardiorespiratory fitness decreased the risk of death and cardiovascular disease especially in older people, even if they were diagnosed with cancer. We've seen the benefits apply to so many of our clients- exercise is powerful medication with tons of benefits for people at any age.

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving wknd even under the circumstances we were given We were so thankful for the beautiful weather, the abundance of food (some healthy, some not so healthy ) and of course the opportunity to spent time with our beautiful family. After Thanksgiving many of us forget about one of the best side dishes that compliments turkey meat: cranberry sauce!... Cranberries have about 5g of fiber per cup, high % of vitamin C and antioxidants and act as a natural diuretic so there are so many benefits to this fruit aside from it being such tasty side dish. immunity boosting prevents UTI's improves digestion relieves water retention increased satiety helps with weight loss When paired with turkey, potatoes and veggies, it's a super filling and healthy meal that'll keep us healthy and satiated for a long time.
