We're starting 2021 off with photos of our recently completed Federal Government GC Workplace project in Ottawa. This is a 4 floor fit-up for a Government tenant, delivered collaboratively with PSPC and Quadreal. A big thank you to Ark Construction who once again delivered amazing results. There was a time that people thought government office space was boring - we beg to differ! GC Workplace has allowed interior designers to tailor the space to the activities of the users in a very dynamic way. Who wouldn't want to work in this space? The time to start thinking about office space in a post-COVID world is now. Some of our more forward-thinking clients are already creating a vision for what the role of the office is in a post-COVID world. And while we accept that work from home will have a long-lasting impact, we're all starting to acknowledge that it can have a negative impact on efficiency and morale. It's also not for everyone. Dieter Rams, the iconic designer, who changed the world of design forever through his work for Braun, introduced 10 principles of good design in the 1970's that are more relevant today than ever. As interior designers, we would replace the word "product" with "interior", as these are universal ideas. According to Dieter Rams, good design: Is innovative...
