Effective April 3, 2021 Following the LWHA visiting framework, during the Provincial Shutdown general visiting will not be permitted to maintain the safety of our patients, staff and community. One (1) essential caregiver may be permitted to support patients with a need that the hospital care team cannot meet. The Essential Caregiver role may include:... Support for a patient’s physical care, mental and emotional well-being that cannot be supported virtually or by the hospital care team Assistance with meals, mobility or personal care that cannot be provided by the hospital care team Communication assistance with hearing, visual, speech, cognitive, intellectual or memory impairment that cannot be provided by the hospital care team Assistance for persons with disabilities that cannot be provided by the hospital care team Palliative Care One visitor will be permitted for palliative care patients nearing end of life All approved caregivers MUST: Pass the screening upon entry to the hospital Wear a hospital provided mask through their entire visit Only visit one inpatient while in the building Limit movement throughout the hospital Be able to enter the building and get to the inpatient unit independently To discuss becoming an essential caregiver contact the COVID Supervisor at 519-357-3210 or 519-291-3120 Ext 5117. The following Outpatient populations will be allowed 1 essential caregiver: Pediatric patients Obstetrical patients (including obstetrical ultrasounds) Emergency/Outpatients who require support Oncology patients for their first visit

Please note the COVID Testing Centre will be closed Friday April 2, 2021 for Good Friday, reopening 10am-4pm Monday April 5th, 2021

December 18, 2020 COVID 19 Outbreak Listowel Memorial Hospital Update The Listowel Memorial Hospital continues to be in a declared COVID 19 outbreak on the second floor medicine unit. A total of 4 patients and 8 staff members have been identified as part of the outbreak. There has been one additional staff member and no new patients reporting as positive since yesterday.... COVID remains heavily present throughout our municipality and community linkages are the probable source of the patient infections. The emergency department visits, ambulatory care services, operating room procedures, obstetrics, diagnostic imaging and specialist visits continue to occur. If you are not feeling well, or have COVID symptoms, do not come to the hospital except for necessary emergency care. There is currently no inpatient visiting permitted at the hospital with the exception of very limited, special circumstances.

Please be aware all persons entering Listowel or Wingham hospitals will be requested to wear a hospital provided level 2 mask.
