When was the last time you celebrated one of the small accomplishments in the journey toward your goal? You put in long hours, one day running into the next, everything is structured and scheduled out. You meet one deadline, then rush right to the next. Sound familiar? It’s so easy to get focused on the finish line that we often forget to have fun along the way. You get swallowed in what needs to be done and lose perspective of how far you have come. ... When was the last time you stopped to view your progress? To be thankful for the forward motion? To really celebrate how far you have come? Remember that one time when you agreed to help out as a volunteer? Maybe you weren’t extremely invested or maybe you were just doing it as a favor. Did you find that you were repaid for your time in joy, gratitude or maybe even opportunity?... That’s exactly what happened to Patience of Liberia, West Africa. Unable to find paying work, she refused to sit around and do nothing. So, she started volunteering with Youth Action International. The time that she gave was repaid in so many ways.
