which includes building and maintaining fertile and self-regenerative soils, high in organic matter and biological activity. But how do you know a product that claims to be organic actually is? This is where the term Certified Organic comes into play. What does "CERTIFIED ORGANIC" mean? Organic food is produced without the application of harmful herbicides, pesticides, or fertilizers. In order to be considered organic, the land on which the food is grown must be free of chemical and other harmful applications for at least 36 months. Organic farming is not only about what the grower does not do, it is also about what he/she does! The grower must demonstrate a commitment to sustainable farming practices
