When the pandemic started I laughed at a friends post about 20L pails of hand sanitizer, and now I’ve purchased 20L pail of cleaning solution. Happy to see they included a pump, so I won’t have to lug this around the office too much!
Today marks the official start of the requirement for masks in all public enclosed buildings for the Northwest Health Unit region. Masks were already a requirement for coming to Lyle Osteopathy so no change here! But please remember your mask for all other businesses in town! I know some may find this requirement a little extreme due to the absence of cases of Covid-19 in our region. However, cold and flu season is right around the corner, and my hope is that mask wearing wi...ll also reduce transmission of these viruses as well! This ultimately should keep things running at Lyle Osteopathy because if I get sick I can't work, and if you get sick, you can't come to your appointment! Further to this, traffic travelling through our region has increased, so this rule will hopefully prevent those who passing through, who may have the virus from spreading it to someone in our community. Also a friendly reminder on mask wearing: Ensure your nose and mouth are covered, wash your hands before and after handling the mask, and don't touch your mask while you wear it! Wearing a mask doesn't mean we should forget about social distancing, and proper hand washing.
To all my patients - check your emails! Some good news! Massage Therapy services can be slowly resumed at the office. Priority will be given to high risk/emergencies for the next few weeks.

Hello to all patients of Lyle Osteopathy, Due to the current state, I’m closing the doors to the clinic for at least the next two weeks, starting today, March 17th. This is in part due to strong recommendations from both the CMTO (College of Massage Therapists of Ontario) and the OAO (Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners) that all non-essential treatments be suspended for the next two weeks. This is also because I feel I strong social responsibility to do ...what I can/what is still within my power. I will be monitoring the situation, and await further instruction from both the College and Association on whether further closure is needed. This is not a decision I made lightly believe me it was a restless night. I will be in touch with those patients who have appointments booked. I will be monitoring my email and phone at the clinic for emergent cases/questions. However, I have always tried to practice what I preach take care of you so you can take care of others. So as a reminder: - Wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer if not possible to wash; don’t touch your face if your hands aren’t clean - Sneeze/cough into your elbow - Practice social distancing minimize your time out in public. This is for your benefit, but also for those in our community who are vulnerable. - If you have travelled please self-isolate/quarantine. If you have symptoms (cough, fever, shortness of breath), please contact our local health unit for further direction. At this time, there is luckily no cases within our community let’s keep it this way. We need to be conscious of reducing the burden on the health care system. Thank you for your patience and support through this time. I look forward to seeing you all once we have ‘flatten the curve’. -Jayme
The clinic is just about ready... still waiting for green light, but will for sure be closed until May 29th. Don’t worry - when I know, you’ll know, and I’ll start rebooking. But for now, get out and enjoy the wonderful weather like me!
The clinics window plants are getting some TLC from me (don’t be jealous because you aren’t! Ha)! Fresh soil and some sun. The fly trap needed a pot upgrade, as it grew a lot, and even sprouted a flower during covid (flower fell off while transporting it home). The rubber plant is probably due for a larger pot too but that will have to wait till I can see you guys again (meaning I need an income hahaha).

Remember how I used to say if you had a cold - still come to your appointment and I'll treat you to help you to get over it??! Ya I take that back for the time being!!!! IF YOU ARE SICK, in any way shape or form - please call/go online to cancel your appointment with me. We will reschedule when you are feeling better!
As of yesterday I am FINALLY an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, and a member of the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners! With this new title comes the ability to bill for Osteopathy services! In addition to this there will be some additional changes around the office - including a new business name: Lyle Osteopathy! So have no fear if you see my signs are missing over the next few weeks - they are being updated, I'm not moving! I want to thank each and e...very one of my patients over the last 5 years of operation of the clinic, and those who were supporting me even before that when I was going through my massage therapy programming and the beginning of my 6.5 year Osteopathic journey. Your support and understanding with my school schedule and the demands that it took were very much appreciated. I have had lots of questions regarding new patients, due the completion of school. At this time I'm not taking new patients - I have a few things I need to work out before I even considering looking at the waitlist. I'm also not adding to the waitlist as it's quite extensive as it is, and don't want to continue to disappoint people by having them sit on the list for great lengths of time. When I have availability I'll be in touch with those on my radar! I hope each and every one of you have a Merry Christmas and I look forward to seeing you all in the new year! The office will be closed after end of day today, and I'll be back in the office January 2. I hope to avoid the office over the holidays and take some much needed R&R!
Office is still closed this week although I’m around and monitoring messages - this week is dedicated to a few minor revisions and my own self-care after a busy weekend of defending my thesis AND graduation from the Canadian College of Osteopathy! Now I just need to finish my application process with the OAO (Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practioners)!
The office is closed this week and next! I have no access to my book this week until I get back from Toronto. I’ll address messages and appointment confirmations on Monday when I’m back in town!
I’m away from the office until next Thursday (Aug 22nd) - busy handing in my thesis (last submission before the presentation, one more to go!) and taking a course on persistent concussion symptoms!
This might affect those of you coming to see me tomorrow... Hopefully they'll let us into our parking lot for the day so that will be less vehicles on the street in front of the office.
I've had a lot of inquiries regarding new patients lately, so I thought I would provide an update. I have submitted my thesis to pre-read and am (not so) patiently waiting for it's return with feedback. Once I've made the necessary changes over the summer, I will have to resubmit it in August. Between August and November I will be working on my presentation for defence November 1st. Upon completion of the defence will be final alterations before final final submission. As ...the completion will take me to the end of the year, I still am working a modified schedule to allow time for completing my thesis. I have started to move through my waitlist. This is a slow trickle. I am not adding to this waitlist as it is already extensive, and I will not likely get through it in the near future. I thank all of my patients for their enthusiasm in referrals over the years to get me to this point.
Happy International Osteopathic Healthcare week!
I'm back in the office this week! It's been a busy last 2.5 weeks. I think I've officially finished my data collection for my thesis, so that should end my traveling for school for the near future. I also attended my 5th year graduation from CCO, and received the first every award for valedictorian for the Winnipeg campus!! I wrapped up the trip with a workshop on concussions. I'm excited to be back in the office and apply what I've learned from the workshop clinically. I'm also excited to move on with the writing of my thesis! Please note the following:I did not complete/graduate from my program yet (so no title change!). I still have to complete my thesis, which I will be defending 1 year from now, before that happens.
Away from the office again this week and next - final round of data collection!! I'll also be taking in Founder's Day Weekend, which involves watching thesis defences and a workshop on concussions next weekend. Looking forward to this busy but exciting trip!
I'm away from the office for the next two weeks as I'm headed to Toronto to collect my first round of data for my thesis!! Will be returning all calls/messages when I return to the office October 2nd.
Chair Yoga will be offered at LSY this fall - I know a number of my patients who would benefit greatly from this class series (as well as the other two)!
