First family shoot of 2021 (yay!) with my sweet friend, Hayley, and her family. We've had an unusually pleasant winter here in Nova Scotia, so we took advantage of a gorgeous February day for a hike in the woods to shoot these ones (lots of time to talk about soccer, video games, and YouTube, hey Ethan?! ;)) I love how they turned out - beautiful light, fun humans, and a solid AF little waterfall. I'm currently booking family shoots for the rest of 2021. Some months get way ...busier than others, and I'm not taking on quite as much as I used to - so if you're thinking about it, send me a message and we'll get you in the calendar ASAP! ***Quick note: Like last year, I have a "no questions asked" cancellation policy in place right now. So if you book something, and everything goes to shit again, we'll figure it out together. No pressure to reschedule, and no money changes hands. September and October are almost fully booked. PEI and Nova Scotia dates available. www.lyndsaydoyle.ca PS - Happy Birthday, Hayley!! Hope you have an awesome day

International Women's Day is a day to celebrate, learn, challenge, and acknowledge the women who are teaching and raising the next generation of strong girls. Today, I celebrate the role models that girls like my niece get to look up to - her parents, her teachers, her coaches, her family, her neighbours. Every single one will play a role in her life. They will challenge her. They will support her through her successes, and they will encourage her through her failures. They w...ill teach her about acceptance, inclusion, and fairness. From them, she will know that she can be who she wants, without fear and at her own pace. From them, she will be continue to be strong. To the women I choose to surround myself with - the soft ones, the tough ones, the quiet ones, and the loud ones - I admire you and what you stand for. I #ChooseToChallenge myself to keep highlighting and showcasing you, authentically and realistically, because there are SO many who need to see you just as you are. To the girls who are watching us - the spirited ones, the introverted ones, the fierce ones, and the shy ones - I #ChooseToChallenge myself to keep showing you what your future could be. Because in my lifetime, I want to see you fly without limit. Strong and Free. www.lyndsaydoyle.ca

International Women’s Day is recognized on March 8th every year. It is a worldwide movement that celebrates the advancement and accomplishments of women and encourages the discussion of engaging and relevant topics in a celebratory way. Every year, there is a theme. This year, the international theme is, Choose To Challenge. Luckily for me, challenging the norms and interrupting narratives is my specialty , and I’m pretty honoured to be included in the lineup for this onl...ine event. If you’ve got some time next Monday (2pm AST), please sign up and join us! This event is open to all, anywhere in the world. There is a $10 registration fee, with all proceeds going to charity. Link below. The conversations will be lively, entertaining, raw, and REAL. We’ll be coming at yas from our homes this year, so it’s super casual. Pour a coffee or tea, (or something else!) and join us on Monday for an afternoon of great discussion. To register: https://www.peoplecanbiz.com/IWD2021

One year ago this weekend, I was given an opportunity to stand on a stage and tell my story. SO much has changed since then, but this event in particular was a catalyst in boosting my 2020 trajectory. I'm eternally thankful to Angela Harris at Work of Heart for the invitation to speak vulnerably to the most wonderful audience in Moncton, NB last February. I've developed lifelong relationships from this community, and I owe it all to her My biggest takeaway from this event w...Continue reading

How’s this for a wall piece?!?! I don’t normally share follow up photos (although I should, I LOVE when clients send them to me!) but this one is just SO incredible - it may be the biggest I’ve ever seen one of my photos. The Monaghan family has ordered four this size, one of each kiddo, for their living room wall. I can’t wait to see it all put together! Yes, I’m still shooting family photos. As long as provincial regulations allow, it’s business as usual :) Message me for ...details. www.lyndsaydoyle.ca (*Shared with permission from the family) Kara Monaghan

One of the highlights of 2020 for me was being invited to be a guest on a few podcasts. Podcasts have become increasingly popular over the past couple of years and I've become a huge fan. They are such great opportunities to dig a little deeper into a topic and have really meaningful conversations, no matter where you are in the world. This is one I recorded recently with Olympian/speaker/international superstar/incredible human - Segun Makinde. He has an awesome podcast call...ed "The Inner Olympian," that explores the power of positive thinking, and tapping into your own strength. In this episode we discuss: Confidence Removing safety nets Making it happen Going all in Rejection and more! If you're a podcast fan, and you have an hour to kill (okay, it's more than an hour... I talk a lot....) give it a listen! It's very, very flattering to be invited into someone else's world, and I'm so thankful for this opportunity. http://bit.ly/ep33-LyndsayDoyle *************** About the Inner Olympian: The Inner Olympian was born out of the idea that you don’t need to go to the Olympics to BE an olympian. Being an Olympian is a mindset that comes down to the way that you think, act, and live, to inspire and impact the world around you in a positive way. Join two-time Canadian Olympian Segun Makinde and special guests for inspiring and insightful conversations to help you tap into your own "Inner Olympian."

'Strong and Free' is a 188-page book filled with full-colour photographs and first hand accounts from Canadian women in the sports world, assembled in the hopes of expanding media coverage of female sports and encouraging young girls to enroll and stay involved when dropout rates are at an all-time high. These photographs capture sporting women in all walks of lifeall ages, all body types, from beginners to Olympians. Within these pages, women share their stories, their cha...llenges, and their triumphs. Filled with lessons that often transcend sports, the subjects of 'Strong and Free' speak of their determination, perseverance, dedication, patience, and responsibility for showing young girls how sport can benefit them throughout their lives. Available in hardcover, softcover, and electronic versions. A portion of all sales goes towards providing financial assistance to adult women in achieving their athletic goals www.lyndsaydoyle.ca/strong-and-free

Thanks so much to everyone who reached out last night after watching the 5 o'clock news! It was an absolute honor to be featured, and it really means a lot to me that so many people took the time to write. I love your stories, your photos, and your grit. Scrappy is good. Determination is good. Healing is good. Whatever sport and activity mean to you, in whatever capacity... keep doing it. Keep showing up. I love talking about the amazing women in this book, and am looking forward to continuing to celebrate their accomplishments and achievements into the new year. Thank you for making 2020 a memorable one <3 www.lyndsaydoyle.ca/strong-and-free

Rain or.... less rain, the Strong and Free book launch is happening tomorrow!! 9 Sherwood Drive in Stillwater Lake, 1-4pm. The tent has arrived, preorders are all packed up, and the amazing Michelle Doucette Photography will be stopping by to take some photos! Full event details: https://fb.me/e/3bqjwyq11... There is still time to preorder a book to ensure you get one tomorrow (email me at [email protected] to order and prepay), OR, just show up with cash to grab a copy. I don't suspect I'll run out, but a reminder that quantities are limited, and prepaid orders are the priority! My helper, Griff, and I will be on hand in our matching outfits (I had to pay him extra for that) to greet you (stay in your cars, please), and hook you up with your books and some candy canes, and laugh our way through the strangest book launch "event" ever. He's in charge of the music playlist as well, so apologies in advance ;) Hope to see you all tomorrow! www.lyndsaydoyle.ca

And just like that, Strong and Free is "launched!!!" No one who starts their own business expects it to be easy. Even after many years, there are always, ALWAYS obstacles. This year has not been kind in a lot of ways. But one good thing (in my opinion) that the pandemic has done this year is highlight the innovative nature and resilience of small business owners. It has been straight up admirable to watch. It's a group I'm pretty proud to be a part of, and I can't imagine working in any other capacity. I'm in it for the long h...aul. So, I'll get to the point. There is not going to be an in-person book launch event for me this year. This weekend made that decision pretty clear. It sucks. It was something I had been looking forward to for a long time (like, years). BUT... enter that innovation/resilience thing I was talking about a second ago... We're moving it online! I have lovely friends who have offered to help, because let's face it... not my strength. This is actually a very good thing because we can include many more people, and borders don't matter <3 AND, we'll be setting up a drive-through book pick-up event "thingy" in my driveway! And it's going to be safe, and fun, and I'll wear snowpants if I have to. Books will be pre-signed, pre-packaged, and safely passed to you through your car window. More details to follow. Tantallon area. probably still on Saturday, December 5th, which was the original date of the launch event. Resilience and innovation for the win :)

Big family = lots of photos!! My last in-home family shoot of 2020. The awesome Monaghan family invited me into their home recently to capture their "everyday" in photographs. Homeschooling, music, reading, pets, and.... CAKE!! A perfect celebration to cap off a wild ride of a year :) It was important to both Kara and I to capture true authenticity in these photos, and I think everyone did an awesome job! It takes a bit of consultation up front, and a bit of patience to ensu...re lifestyle sessions are a success. I always try to get to know every member of the family as much as I can before and during the shoot, which helps me translate their personalities into images they will love :) Booking for 2021. www.lyndsaydoyle.ca Kara Monaghan

Well, I guess you could say a few books have arrived!! It’s a big day here (as you can see, Uncle Leo is VERY excited too!) I’m sorting through the preorders and will have them ready to go on December 5th. Please send me a message (through Facebook, or email [email protected]) if you’re local to Halifax and would like to purchase a copy. If you’re not local, here is the online link to purchase:... https://books.friesenpress.com/sto/title/119734000145977005 Women face a unique set of obstacles when deciding whether or not to begin, or continue, in sport, and it’s been on my mind now for the entirety of this project how I can help alleviate, or even remove some of those obstacles. I’m very excited to finally let you know that a portion of all sales of this book will go directly towards supporting adult women in their sporting goals. Babysitting, membership and test fees, adaptive equipment, transportation... we’re going to help cover the little things, one book at a time Thanks again, everyone, for the outpouring of support. It means more than you know. *************** Event Update: So, ok... as of right now, the book launch event (aka: mass book pick up day) on December 5th in Halifax is still on. Every day is different, and I’m planning for all scenarios Stay tuned for updates on that one. If the event is cancelled, I will make sure everyone gets their books ASAP, even if I have to pass them to you with tongs through your kitchen windows L xoxo
