Happy Thanksgiving!
Being a boastful Aunty. Congratulations Braedan!
Today was Beryl Doreen Lyons Adam’s birthday. She was born on this day in 1929 in La Rivière, Manitoba. She was the youngest daughter of Fred and Florence Lyons, baby sister to Curly, Jack, Fred, Ken, Margaret, Harold and Donald.
This a picture of Grandmother Florence with her sisters Pearl and Winnifred. Also in the picture are Winnifred's great grand children. Lonnie, Wanetta, Donavan and Derwin. Their mother is Pearl Mary who was the daughter of Howard who was the son of Winnifred. I believe the picture was taken in 1973. In the back are Lonny and Wanetta who I met in Saskatoon in 2016 at their mother Pearl's house. Then in the center row is Pearl, and Winnifred and Florence. In front are Donavan and Derwin. Three pretty spry ladies!
My nephew David. Good job David.
Linda Adams and her family out horse backing riding. Linda is in the middle of the picture in blue. Linda’s mom Beryl was the youngest daughter of Florence and Frederick Lyons. Very nice family portrait. I do not know who all the other people are. Maybe someone can tag them.
Hello Family Today is the day you were all going to start arriving to the Lyons Family Reunion 2020. I am sorry we have had to postpone it til 2021 but so happy to know you are all safe from the Covid 19 virus. Brian is out cutting the grass, I am doing a bit of sanding on a building we have that needs painting. I would much rather be getting hugs from you all. As our B. C. Medical Authority, Dr. Bonnie Henry says: Be Kind, Be Calm and Be Safe. See you next year!
My kind of family portrait! This is Logan, Kylene, Dryden, Arabella with their mom Heather. Heather is Diane Lyons Sidoni’s daughter. Diane was Jack Lyons daughter. (Picture taken in 2019)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY FUNNY NIECE JESSICA!
John Robert Mitchell, my great grandfather, born this day July 17, 1857. He would be 163 years old. He was born in Mariposa Township, Victoria County, Ontario. He married Elizabeth Rose Raby who gave birth to my grandmother Florence Myrtle Mitchell in 1882. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANPA!
Happy Anniversary to Elizabeth Rose Raby and John Robert Mitchell. Florence’s parents were married on this day June 29, 1881 in Lindsay, Ontario. This picture is of them in later years. Florence, their first child, married S. Frederick Lyons.
My niece Jessica and her husband Jon’s son Oliver. Jessica’s mom is Janice, Donald James Lyons daughter. Donald was Fred and Florence’s youngest son, their 7th child. DON’T WORRY, BE HAPPY!
Nancy just posted this lovely picture of herself with her brother Mark. They are Jackie’s daughter and son. Jackie was Jack’s son. Jack was Fred and Florence’s second son. I was looking forward to meeting Mark for the first time and seeing Nancy again in July 2020! Well now it will be July 2021!
Happy Good Friday! I hope this finds you all well and enjoying your staycation while you self isolate. Here, in Aldergrove, B. C. We have a beautiful sunny day and I will be doing some gardening. This COVID 19 is quite scary and it is lasting much longer than I was hoping it would. I don’t think we will be out of the woods this summer so I have decided to postpone our Family Reunion. That way no one has to wonder about travelling, flying, staying in close contact or the c...hance of contacting the virus. I hope you all will keep the LYONS FAMILY REUNION 2020 in your thoughts and we will try again in 2021. I am going to try out ZOOM so maybe on August 1 we can have a virtual barbecue! Please stay home, stay with your family, stay safe. Love you all. Wendy
Hello family. I wanted to tell you that I, and my family are all okay. I am so happy about that and HOPE that we continue to be well. How about you all? I talked with Linda Adams and she and her family are well but her brother Ted’s wife Bonnie is in the hospital. I am sure you all join with me wishing her well. I hope she is better soon and out of hospital. We all need to STAY HOME! I am starting to worry about our Lyons Family Reunion West Coast 2020! I am going to keep planning for it but I don’t know if travel will be a good thing even 4 months out. I will continue to think positively as I dearly want to have you all here. What do you all think? Take care everyone. Post your pictures of what is keeping you and your family busy! Wendy
My niece Jessica and her husband Jon put this up. The hope we have gives us the incentive to go forward.
This is Oliver Haughton, Jon and Jessica’s son. Ollie turns 1 today! Here is his new fire truck. Happy Birthday Ollie!
Hello Family! Lyons Family Reunion West Coast is only 4-1/2 months away! I am so looking forward to having you all here to meet more of your extended Lyons family. I would like to know who are planning on attending and if I can help with finding a hotel or? The two guest rooms, one for Claire and Kim, one for Linda and Dennis, I will have a tent trailer for Wayne and Leanne and Sawyer. I have another trailer for Ted Lyons if he and Bonnie are coming. I am hoping Tim Lyo...ns is coming, and if so, I will be able to work that out as well. There is lots of room for more RV’s and tents. There is two hotels within 10 minutes of our place if you prefer. NOW FOR THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM!!! COVID 19 Virus We don’t know what is going to happen with this virus and if it will be gone by that time? Will we be able to fly, drive, meet? What about being able to afford to travel? Right now in B.C. it’s pretty scary for sure. How is it where you are? Linda! What’s it like in Kentucky? Ted is the virus bad in Virginia? Tim I bet it’s scary in Toronto as well. Claire! Do you have lot of concern in La Rivière? Heather! What does it feel like up in Fort St. John? Nancy, how is Calgary? I am looking forward to having you all here. If this virus is still causing problems we will have to adjust! Stay safe family. Hugs.
Hi. Our family take wonderful holidays in the sun! This is Avery, Jeremy, Rory and Shawna. Jeremy is Lee Lyons Lumgair and Hugh Lumgair’s son. Lee was Harold Lyons daughter. It would be wonderful if you guys could come to the Family Reunion West Coast! Have fun in the sun.
My grand nephew Braedan with his mom Cathy and dad Jason, my nephew. This note is written by his mom Cathy, a great hockey mom. Congratulations Braedan. You know you're at a hockey banquet when the centrepiece is a skate! What a great night and another " thing" to end as my boy gets closer to graduating. Tonight he graduated out of Minor Hockey, which has been YEARS of our lives in fact, a major chunk of our lives ( trying not to think of that ). His coach summed him up by saying he was his teams biggest hitter, although a softy with no attitude at all ( heavy sarcasm on the attitude bit). I have loved watching my boy play a sport he absolutely loves...and we at least have Provincials because I am nowhere near ready to say goodbye to hockey and everything it has brought to this family!
Linda Adam’s grandkids. Linda is Beryl’s daughter, Beryl was Donald’ baby sister.
