Chances are you've either seen Tantoo on film, as an environmental activist, as the recipient of several awards and accolades, or all three. Having grown up dee...p in the bush without electricity, Tantoo was inspired to use her imagination while she played. As a young girl, she also learned Cree, her ancestor's traditional ways of life and what it means to be Métis from her grandmother. Those teachings and passions have carried Tantoo forward, as she has appeared in several films and TV shows, including Dances With Wolves, Legends of the Fall and North of 60.
