Only took ten years to build a better mouse trap. First job for new front and rear bumpers and the overhead rack system. A little bit rushed and had to wire it together for today’s steel pick up. I promise to make it proper before the next ten years go by. #isuzuelf #IsuzuSuzzie

Visited a dear friend today for coffee. While there I also visited some commissioned handrails I did for their home. Starting stock was 1.5 square.

Visiting friend and co-artist on this piece, @loubeeferguson, in Meacham yesterday. 24x11’ I-beam with 1/2 thick cast glass inserts. Visit it while enjoying outdoor fireside theatre and story telling @dancingskytheatre in September. #blacksmith #metalart #sculpture #glassart #dancingskytheatre @angus_ferguson

Loading the 1300 pound beam was a reach but nothing Isuzu Suzzie hasn’t seen before. #isuzuelf #blacksmith #metalart

I was able to salvage 2,000 pounds of channel iron from a house demolition this week. Bonus of 86 patio blocks (2,800 pounds). Love my little Isuzu Suzzie. Thanks to Dr. Donna for the lead. #isuzuelf #blacksmith #metalart @ Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Been a Barrel of farm Monkeys around here lately. Picked up an old field sprayer, some combine parts and a bailer cowling. Thinking furniture for the latter two. The sprayer will be a water tank, an off-road, back country boat hauler, greenhouse watering system with the heavy pipe left over for future projects. @ Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Had a great day today. Helped @lesliepotter upright his Queen sculpture. Delivered another of his sculptures to @DaniellePotter’s home. Bartered truck services for this big rebar. How is rebar properly measured; inside the nubs or to the outside of the protrusions? @ Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Took an old MIG whip apart to salvage the copper. Used one twisted length to make this 9 chord, flat braid for a new ground strap. Fun work. #copper #braiding #blacksmith #anvil #metalart #groundstrap @ Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Finally handled this forged French 8 pound hammer. The eye is bigger than usual so I cut and dried a birch tree this winter. Thanks @gordonjesseolson. I always soak the head in antifreeze for a few days. It swells the wood fibres for year or more in our very dry climate. #blacksmith #crosspein #anvil #forge #hammer @ Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Not sure where or when I acquired this but I like it. Some beautiful wear marks from a life of mechanical service. Cleaning out some deep corners and there it was! I have no use for it but I cannot bring myself to scrap it which is why I have deep corners in the first place. #toogoodtotoss #blacksmith
