Proud to say that Auberge Maanitaaukimikw is back at full swing at the moment It had endured a close to 4 month closure because of the Pandemic and only received the assistance that was made available to all other small and medium businesses in Canada despite the fact that our region was shut down for a much longer period than everywhere else. During all this I had to lay myself off and I continued to pay my assistant manager(s)... We are not out of the water yet as there is a 2nd wave looming and I fear another shutdown Privately owned accommodation businesses in Eeyou Istchee are probably one of the hardest hit businesses in Canada as our region was completely closed to outsiders for an extended duration we and don't have the financial safety of band owned/backed hotels Glad we are still standing Wish us luck for the upcoming months
