Mabou Ceilidh is in the bag for another year! If you didn't make it out to the concert tonight you missed one heck of a show. We'd like to send out a great big thank you to Lindsay MacNeil and David Rankin for taking on the concert and doing an outstanding job, with a helping hand from old pros Derrick and Melody Cameron. We are most proud of this fine example of teamwork. Thanks you guys!

Mabou Athletic Center 08.04.2020

Revamping of the Mabou Ceilidh Workers List is about to take place. Anyone who does or does not wish to participate please message us or your name will, or will not appear accordingly. The Mabou Ceilidh could not take place without the countless volunteer hours that are donated and we thank you in advance for your continued participation and community spirit!!

Will be holding a Mabou Ceilidh Committee meeting on Thursday, June 12th at 730pm, Mabou Fire Hall. We will soon need hands to put together both an indoor and outdoor stage so if you are available please join us!

Mabou Athletic Center 29.03.2020

Ceilidh meeting tonight at 7pm, firehall, for anyone who is interested.

Mabou Athletic Center 17.03.2020

Please try and attend tonight's Ceilidh meeting, 7pm, Mabou Fire Hall. A vote is needed to make some decisions before the planning of the Ceilidh can move forward.

Mabou Athletic Center 10.03.2020

Pay attention folks. FINAL meeting of the Mabou Ceilidh committee will take place on April 8th, 7pm at the firehall. If there is no community support for organizing the Ceilidh then there is really no need of a handful of us killing ourselves for the fun of it. We have been met with opposition at returning to the rink grounds, which is valid since WORK would have to be done to improve the watery condition it is in at present. The activities have been pared down considerably but without community members getting on board it will not take place at all. "If it is to be, it is up to me" Right?

Mabou Athletic Center 25.02.2020

is sending out a friendly reminder that the next Mabou Ceilidh meeting will be held Tuesday, March 25th at the Mabou Fire Hall, 7pm. We encourage anyone who is interested in having a Ceilidh this year to join us and participate.

Mabou Athletic Center 19.01.2020

Don't forget, Ceilidh meeting at 7pm!

Mabou Athletic Center 03.01.2020

There will be an open meeting to discuss the Mabou Ceilidh on Tuesday March 4th, 7pm at the Mabou Fire Hall. We are looking for some volunteers to join this little committee for some fresh ideas. If you'd like some input, join us, we'd appreciate it.

Mabou Athletic Center 24.12.2019

would like to spread the word in search of interested parties to help with the Mabou Ceilidh this year. I apologize for the short notice but it will leave us wi...th lots more time for more meetings... We will have an informal meeting this Sunday evening at the Mabou Fire Hall, 730 pm. We would like to strongly encourage members of the Mabou Athletic Commission, Mabou Volunteer Fire Department, Mabou Gaelic and Historical Society and any interested members of the community to join us as this festival isn't going to organize itself :) This is an opportunity for everyone to share their ideas and opinions on how to revitalize our community's festival!

Mabou Athletic Center 10.12.2019

has another question; who wants to see the Mabou Ceilidh head back to the Arena grounds?

Mabou Athletic Center 01.12.2019

is going to try and get the jump on things this year. We're looking for some community input regarding the Mabou Ceilidh. As we all know we've collided the last few years with Wyhcocomagh Days, so first topic; can we get a 'like' for anyone who would like to see the Mabou Ceilidh move to the second weekend in July, (July 12th to be exact)?

Mabou Athletic Center 23.11.2019

is cordially inviting the community of Mabou and users of the arena to attend our AGM on Tuesday, October 15th, 730 pm, at the arena. We will have a financial overview and an opportunity to lay some groundwork for the new season. It's time to get back to the basics and formulate a plan for the arena's future! Things are looking up and we're hopeful. Please join us in supporting a long standing community facility!

Mabou Athletic Center 03.11.2019

Would like to dedicate this next clip to Mabou Athletic Centre and Mabou Minor Hockey. http://m.youtube.com/watch

Mabou Athletic Center 17.10.2019

Would like to strongly encourage all the parents with children interested in playing hockey this season in Mabou to attend Mabou Minor Hockey's meeting at the arena Monday night. It's at 7pm and a new executive is needed to go forward with the season. MMH is in good shape, kids are raring to go- come on parents, don't let your little ones down!! (It's not as hard as it looks...) If a new executive does not step forward, there will be no Minor Hockey in Mabou, which directly reflects on Mabou Athletic Center as well. Keep in mind, once you lose something, it's hard to get it back. There is a wonderful group of supporters involved with minor hockey, they simply need a little structure for the books, let's go people!!

Mabou Athletic Center 12.10.2019

Would like to say thank you to the volunteers who came to hold the Mabou Antique Car Show together today. Thank you as well to the sponsors who provided all the donated door prizes and the Mull for contributing the $50 gift certificate once again for the sponsor draw. The winner this year is the Admiral Tavern, Port Hood. We had great weather, an awesome turnout and another enjoyable event! There were plenty of beautiful cars, trucks and bikes in attendance and hope our participants enjoyed the day, see you again next year :)

Mabou Athletic Center 28.09.2019

Mabou Ceilidh teen dance tonight 9pm-12pm, doors closing at 10pm. Rules of engagement are as follows: Parents, be realistic. Please don't drop your kids of at 8pm, they're not coming to bond with us chaperones. The rink is located across the road from the graveyard, not through it. Pick up your children at midnight. We cannot let anyone in who is drunk. We will not tolerate drinking in the building. Your parents will be called to come fetch your carcus and if they decline, ...the RCMP will provide travel and perhaps accommodations. No fighting, please, she's doesn't find it attractive anyway. Please respect the arena and our village. We do not need to have teen dances, we are trying to include you in our festivities. Anyone found defacing property will be charged to the fullest extent, and publicly shamed every chance we get. This is your home too, be proud and protective of it. There will be a police presence from start to finish so please behave in a mature fashion. This is to ensure you can continue to teach us your dance moves. Finally, have fun and pray this rain will stop for us please! See more

The worker list has been distributed and a few people have noticed some flubs. If you are one of those flubs or cannot fulfill our volunteer request please message Mabou Ceilidh or Mabou Athletic Center and we will make a note of it.
