To celebrate, each month we will be highlighting nurses an...d midwives in Dufferin-Caledon and the amazing work they do. To start us off, meet Darlene, Charge Nurse, Emergency Department. Nursing really called to me when my brother was diagnosed with cancer. As I spent time with him in the hospital, I watched the nurses and I thought, I can do this. When I did a placement here at HHCC in the Emergency Department more than 22 years ago, I fell in love with the fast pace environment. As one of two permanent Charge Nurses in the Emergency Department, I am honored to be able to give back to my community. Each day I strive to make sure the patients and staff are happy and that I myself make the best of every situation that arises. #Proudtobeanurse #Alwaysanurse
