Now that is a big tree. When you have to load with a tractor..... it’s big
I love having my morning coffee by the light of our Christmas tree. The smell, the lights, the quiet house.....All is calm, all is bright
Morning Everyone, One week till Christmas and we still have some Fresh Balsam Fir and White spruce in the field. If you need a tree , You can cut your own, buy a curb side pickup, or have a tree delivered to your home. Have a great week, let us know if we can help make this COVID Christmas a special one !
Mother Nature and farming has a number of different challenges , and then to finish up your day, she does this !
Some great real tree facts from The Christmas Tree Farmers of Ontario ! We are a proud member....
Great month at the farm with these lads. Graham, Tyler and John. Always great to hire local and give these guys a summer job ! And of course without them, the farm work would not get done. Thanks Lads ! For a great season
Sunrise over the Balsam fir. We have been shearing and shaping, fertilizing, mowing , seeding a new field, discing, plowing. Putting in a new tile drain .....its been a busy summer. Shearing team has been great, John , Tyler and Graham have done a great job.
Yesterday , the storm cells all somehow missed the farm. While we are busy shearing and dont want to stop for a thunderstorm.... we could really use this rain ! You can see its raining over the solar farm and heading our way! Hopefully
Lads are working up on the hill this morning. A beautiful day in the field. Heat is starting to build though and there is very little breeze.
It is shearing season again at the farm. The rain yesterday was crazy but we toughed it out in the field. The lads did great. Today is shaping up to be dry , with a nice cool breeze. Great day for working outside
Thankful for the thunderstorm that rolled through the farm in the middle of the night last night. Soooo good , to hear that rain on the roof !
Happy Canada Day ! Just less than 6 months till Christmas ! Lol
Happy Fathers Day to Everyone ! How do you spend a Sunday ? Balsam in their new growth
Beautiful morning at the farm. Getting caught up on some mowing chores. The Balsam up in the ridge are beautiful this year. Always have to watch very closely though. Fawns hide in the long grass while they are young. A real treat to see them. Had to move my work elsewhere.
Happening all too frequently these days. First our fallen RCMP officer (Heidi) in Nova Scotia , and now the loss of some of our own Canadian Armed Forces personnel.A sad time indeed.
thinking of Nova Scotia at this very sad time. Nova scotia is the Home of the Balsam fir
Very Christmas like at the farm this morning. As I plan for this growing season it makes us wonder what the harvest season might be like this year, We will have to wait and see.
Spring is here. Geese are back in full force today.
Beautiful bright Saturday morning and two really nice 12 foot Balsam fir on their way to be in the movies ! Thanks Fatman!
we were missing Colin and Erin on picture day unfortunately....This is John, Tyler and Devon. the farm simply wouldnt work without the help of these lads ( and Erin). Our longtime volunteers Randy, Chrissy, Dawn and Allan wouldnt get in the picture. It takes a pretty big team to sell some trees ! Big thanks to all of these folks ! and of course nothing would get captured in a picture around here if it wasnt for Isabelle Buckley !
Who would have thought you could sell Christmas trees in January ? Well you know what ? You can ! Some of MacGowans Christmas trees will be in an upcoming feature film. More later as things unfold !
Tree was purchased December 1, and taken down today. We are in absolute awe about how perfect our tree looks, 40 days later! Other than a few needles that came ...off while taking the decorations off, it looks like new!! Thank you to MacGowans Christmas Tree Farm for such a gorgeous season See more
When you have a few extra precuts, donate some of them to the NCC and the canal. The remainder are destined for the goats ! We dropped off 15, but there was certainly a huge pile there already.
Thats a tree from our farm. Pop in to Ridge Rock brewery for a pint !
Did you remember to water your Christmas Tree today?
Another tree season is drawing to a close. We will open noon to 5 Monday and Tuesday for anyone who still wants a fresh locally grown tree. Merry Christmas from the team at MacGowans !... Randy. Christine, Allan, Dawn, Jon, Tyler, Erin, Colin, and Devon
Kinda of quiet out here right now. Great time to grab a fresh tree !
Now thats a big tree !
We are open 9 to 5 today. Lots of fresh Spruce and Balsam fir in the field. Come cut your own ! A beautiful morning at the farm.
We are open this weekend 9 and to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday. There are still trees available in field Balsam and white spruce from 6 to 12 feet. Wagon ride, hot chocolate and cookie included with your tree.... Merry Christmas
Hi Everyone, Open weekdays Noon till 5pm Weekends 9 - 5
I actually did grow up on a Christmas tree farm. In a gingerbread house, deep within the yummy gummy gumdrop forest. Where, funnily enough, this song is their national anthem. #ChristmasTreeFarm song and video out now https://taylor.lnk.to/XMASTreeFarm
I love a lot of different Christmas tunes. Any time that I am a little stressed out in traffic I often put them on to chill out and quietly escape to my happy place , The farm. Here is a new song that is quickly becoming my new favourite. quick piece of trivia , Taylor Swift grew up on a Christmas Tree Farm. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mN3rDTAdM2o
Thats right. We can deliver while supplies last !
Nice article on the farm in the local paper. Thank you Erin McCracken
Great article that identifies the benefits of a real Christmas tree !
Friends dropped by the farm this past weekend. Have a look at the truck that Donna McCafferty made. Pretty cool and looks like our old girl
