Beware! If any retail establishment has the misfortune to deal with a Fred and Joanne J of Leamington, they will wish they'd never heard of them. This is something right out of the twilight zone. I sold a fully serviced sewing machine a short while ago to these people. Several days ago, he brought the machine back as his wife said it wasn't working. I said no problem,I'd take a look at it. I discovered that besides the bobbin case not being locked in, there was nothing wrong... with it. I found the bobbin case impacted in the driveway, were he had driven over it. So I gave it a servicing anyway, charging less than half price because they were good customers. Making sure (as I usually do) that the machine was working properly, I phoned him to pick it up. A short time later she phoned, telling me he was really mad that I charged him $25 and it was still not working. I was a liar and a thief. I tried to explain how to insert the bobbin case and she told me that she was not stupid and certainly knew how to operate a sewing machine. It was still not working and now the needle won't even go down. I suggested that they try Ottawa street in Windsor to fix the problem. I found out when he showed up with the machine again, the needle was bent at least 10 degrees so of course it would not go through the proper hole. He showed up at our door a few minutes later full of anger and sarcasm. When I tried to explain, he was not listening to any of what I said. He grabbed the machine and smashed it to pieces in the driveway saying "There! Now you have a machine for parts, no-one sues me!" I had mentioned that I would be happy to take this to small claims court. I also noticed he showed up not wearing his usual glasses, he must have thought I was going to throw a punch. Can you imagine? So because no-one wanted to listen for 4 minutes or be shown how to insert the bobbin holder, they are out the $50 for the machine and the $25 for the servicing. The photos show what he did to a perfectly good machine in our driveway. In 20 years, I've never met a more aggressive, illogical and infantile customer. One final fact - If I hear so much as one sentence slurring the name Star Pioneer sewing machine repair or myself - there will be a defamation suit enter their lives. See more

Kicking over the idea of someday creating explicit and detailed DVDs to enable people to repair their own sewing machines at a fraction of the cost of a repair shop. General repair and specific problem DVDs so that one wouldn't have to buy the whole series if they didn't want to. General maintenance- Thorough servicing- Vertical and horizontal needle-hook timing-... Just some possible titles, maybe $30 to $50 each one? See more
