We are able to open Mackenzie Joan Training & Grooming again! We look forward to seeing you. There will have some new rules for taking extra precautions to ensure everyone's safety. Please take the time to review them to ensure your pet's appointment goes as smoothly as possible. 1. When you arrive, knock on the door to let us know youve arrived. Well open the door and let your pet inside. If you have a cat grooming appointment, we ask that they are in a secure carrier. Upo...n arrival, leave the carrier outside the door before you knock. 2. We no longer allow dogs to come in wearing any correctional collars. This includes Prong Collars, Slip Collars or Shock Collars. Harnesses and regular flat collars are fine. This is to reduce stress in the dogs with the new hands off procedure. 3. We are requesting clients to pay via e-transfer if possible to avoid handling any cash. If this is a problem, let us know and we can arrange something else. 4. If anyone in your household has covid concerns please let us know so we can reschedule your appointment when everything is all clear. There is no cancellation fees for covid related cancels. We can't wait to have you back but in the safest way possible. Book an appointment today by calling (905) 802-6510. If you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out!

What a cool way for them to calculate it!
Cooperative care at its best! Even the big, strong guys will work with you if you take your time to teach them
If you or anyone you know is looking to adopt a special needs cat reach out!
With the stealth of a sofa!
I wanted to show a little something I've been working on with Nelson. He has a really hard time at the vet so I'm teaching him how he can tell me "I'm ready!" for being handled and restrained for an exam. This can make a HUGE difference for pets when being handled at the vet clinic or groomers! What you'll see in the video, is called a "Start Button" behavior. It's a simple behavior that Nelson can do without me prompting him. When he waves, he's making a decision to continue working with me. This means he will be less likely to become aggressive or fearful when we use this at the vet because he has the choice to slow down or stop handling without resorting to biting or hiding. #fearfreepets #forcefreetraining #catsofinstagram #deafcat
My heart was racing watching ....this adorable little baby is fine! An illustration of how NOT to introduce a newborn baby to the family dog (long). [Posted by Facebook.com/ReisnerVetBehavior] This was shared with me and I agreed it was worth a few comments. First, the baby is fine; there were no bites in the video. However, the interactions encouraged between five dogs one at a time, thank goodness and the baby are unsafe, and offer an opportunity to point out better way...Continue reading
A little Monday fun! How many dog breeds can you get right?
A little cooperation can go a long way!
Husbandry work with zoo animals is becoming more and more popular. It's a great way to show that you can teach any animal that cooperating in medical exams can be fun and without using force or drugs to sedate them! What do you think?
You will want one after watching this
