Adoption Alert It was our pleasure to have said goodbye to Shenna this morning as she left MacKenzie Kennels with her new family. Shenna is the first adoption of our most recent rescue group and we are overjoyed with having met her. At just 11 years old, Shenna now gets to live out her golden years with the most loving family where she will receive all the snuggles and treats imaginable. We would like to thank everyone who has come forward with food donations which assi...st us greatly. We would also like to give a special shout out to Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary in Cochrane who also exhausted their efforts in rescuing 10 Wolfdogs and 3 Huskies from the same environment as where Shenna came from (more on this later). If you or anyone are looking to add a loving member to your family, please consider adoption as there are many others, like Shenna, who are looking for their new forever homes. All our best; MacKenzie Boarding Kennels
Hi folks, sorry we have been quiet for a minute. What an incredible but BUSY few weeks it has been. Thank you all for your continued support. Over the next few hours we will provide more updates over what has taken place during this time. Should you wish to know more information about any of the dogs in this post, do not hesitate to send us a message or call. Randy
On our way home with some wonderful Siberian’s that will be up for adoption! We will have more pictures and info in the coming days.
We would like to thank Jennifer LW for these wonderful goodies that she dropped off to us. You rock Jenn!
We are open and here to help ease your mind. If you are evacuated and need a place for your pups or small caged pets. As in the past and always, evacuees stay for free!
So just now Robin flew the coop. It really seems like Sloan showed up to give her a helping wing. Her gentle encouragement seems to have Robin flying free.
Great day the nursery is empty. All the babies have been released although Robin is still sitting in her cage. But the door is open so she can come and go as she pleases. Amazingly the baby rabbits made it to release date. Sloan still shows up but is spending more time away. So I am sure she is figuring out how to find food for herself. The most rewarding part of rescuing is release day.
Thank goodness all the baby birds are eating on their own now due to new arrivals coming in all the time. Sloan is ready to go but we are waiting for her little sister Maxxx to catch up and be ready to release with her. Robin is doing great and almost ready to go as well.
Amazing kennel. Very friendly knowledgeable staff, extra clean kennels, and running area. Great staff who really love and care and have compassion for animals.
good day from Sloan. he is everywhere now. and it looks like Sloan is a she. so she is everywhere.
Sloan has a lot to say these days. and is starting to test his wings.
good morning from Sloan. from a nestling to a fledgling in 9 days.
good morning from Sloan. first step to leaving the nest is sitting on the edge of it.
good morning from Sloan. only a matter of days now before he wants out of the nest. I am pretty sure if I stared at him long enough I would be able to see his feathers grow.
Sloan is still thriving today. Looking at the pictures I took of him it's hard to believe how much he has changed in 4 days.
