We are about 1 more zone from not being open so let’s get the numbers down folks.

Masks will now be required although most have you have been wearing them anyway which is lovely of you.

We will not be opening our diningroom on Friday when the province goes stage 3. We have an idea of how we will operate it when we feel the time is right but we don’t feel like that time is quite yet for us. We will continue with our take out program for the time being.

Last year was one of the worst in history for catching Lake Erie yellow perch and the commercial fisherman predicted this year would be worse. As usual they were right. When what we have runs out in a couple days we will be out for the foreseeable future. If we can get some in the sizing we want we will bread it up and serve it when we can but if we can’t we can’t. We will continue to serve the Atlantic Cod that we have served for years and years. It’s tasty and a lot of food for the price and hopefully at some point we will be able to add Lake Erie’s delicacy again.

THE BEACH IS OPEN!!!!! There are some restrictions most of which are pretty obvious and if you follow Central Elgin Beach Rescue on Facebook you can get updates on conditions and such. Most noteworthy differences you will find is a lack of water fountains and pop machines so you may want to be bringing these things with you along with hand sanitizer and all that. Keeping yourself distanced and it appears group games are being discouraged. As far as our operation we are going... to be continuing with our take out only as we want to continue to be exceptionally cautious with the health and safety of ourselves our families and our staff and their families. We would love to be able to serve as many beach goers as we normally do but with this system we can serve enough fries that the staff can pay their tuition and we can pay our taxes and if we all come out the other side then that’s good enough for now. We ask that you please continue to respect the protocols we have in place. Many of them are for your safety but all of them are for ours. See more

Now Open Daily 11-7 for TAKEOUT ONLY. Under the direction of Southwestern Public Health we have installed a plexiglass barrier along our counters which will allow us to serve between 2-4 sets of customers at a time. Guests will line up outside the east entrance (William street side) and wrap around the south side(closest to the lake) while practicing safe social distancing until instructed that it is your turn to enter. Sanitize you’re hands and proceed to the server to place... your order and then follow the servers directions as to where to wait for your order to be ready. You will then proceed to the condiment table where all condiments will be prepackaged and a staff member will distribute them to you based on what you require/desire. You will then exit back out the same door and and another customer will be permitted to enter. Please limit the number of people in your group who actually enter the establishment as larger groups limit the number of total orders we can take at once which then in turn makes the line move slower. PLEASE NOTE : the beach is still CLOSED and heavily patrolled by by-law enforcement. Municipal parking lots are all closed so parking is limited to our north parking lot. The parking spots outside the William street entrance are closed to allow more room and greater safety for those waiting in line outside. We have NO seating inside or outside or washrooms. The municipality has NO seating anywhere or public washrooms. Daytripping to Port Stanley is not advised at this time. This is strictly a grab your Mackies fix and head back home or eat in your car. We will be serving our full menu except our popcorn machine broke in early March and the new one we ordered is still sitting somewhere in America but one day we will have that again.
