Over the last 5 years, we have seen a real shift towards hotter and drier growing conditions throughout May and June. These are crucial months for spring malting barley which prefers cooler temperatures to develop - the heat in these months causes the barley to go out in head too early, reducing yield and grain quality. To help mitigate the risk from these climate changes, we are trialling a small field of winter malting barley this year!... SeCan has been testing numerous winter barley varieties from all over the world, and this one shows the best winter survival and yield potential. #mackinnonbrothersbrewing #ontariofarmers #farmgrownbeer

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to let us know how much you have been enjoying our distance pints weekends! We are so thrilled that the community has had a place to safely enjoy some soul food, tasty brews and killer tunes. We have listened to the requests, and are bringing Old Style Barbeque and Frank Ryan back to the farm this Saturday! ... We hope to see you there. Food will be available from 12-5 (or until they sell out). Music will be live at 1!
