Winning lawyers are laser-focused, talk less in Court and wrap their arguments in a Tiffany's Box instead of dumping a trash can of arguments in front of the Court of Appeal or the SCC and asking the judges to root through the garbage to find the diamond ring of a winning argument. MacLean's lawyers know this and that's why they are so successful. See Young v Young Canada's leading custody case where Lorne MacLean, QC won sole custody, 100 percent reapportionment, special co...sts, and substantial spousal and child support. See also D v D 2019 where we obtained $116,000 A MONTH support. 2020 ONT CA" Courts expect counsel to be of assistance in the appellate process...to have sufficient confidence to prioritize their arguments, to separate the wheat from the chaff and to provide fully developed arguments on what should be the real points for appellate review."

When a family separation occurs the parties will now need 2 residences instead of just one. But how will the new home be paid for while the spouses are trying to settle the issues of child parenting time, child support, spousal support and division of family property? An interim order, also called an interlocutory order, is an order that can be made at an intermediate stage of a legal proceeding, that is, before the final resolution of a legal matter. If you have a Sale of Family Home On Separation dispute, call MacLean Law right away to find out you and your childrens rights.

New Divorce Act changes are coming to Canada in 2021. The Divorce Act deals with many issues facing separating married couples, including termination of the marriage, children, and financial support of both the spouses and children. In its present form since 1986, the current Divorce Act was considered conflictual and outdated. In 2018, the federal government proposed amending the current Divorce Act (and other legislation) to modernize and clarify current federal family law legislation, anticipating an effective date of July 1, 2020. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the passage of the new Divorce Act has now been delayed to March 1, 2021. Speak with one of our experienced family law lawyers today to see how this may impact your case.
