Here are some photos of feeding time for the younger ones. Our growing calves and feeders get haylage instead of dried hay. These are individually wrapped bales, from our second cut of the year, baled and wrapped before the cut hay dries. This use of plastic has inspired Warren to join the TNRD Solid Waste Committee and lobby for recycling option for agricultural plastic. We will keep you posted on his successes. This is a higher protein feed because the 2nd cut has more s...eed head than the first cut, and being baled green and wrapped, it retains more leaf from the grass than dry hay does. Higher protein food with all the roughage that comes from eating grass stalks with the leaf and seed for good ruminant health. All grass, all natural. Thank you to all our customers and friends.

Evening feeding time for our cows. They come running when they hear the tractor, and we roll out round bails of hay that Warren cropped from a field just a few kilometers away in Birch Island. We only use locally grown grass and hay, never grain, to produce our beef for our customers in the Thompson Rivers area. Why only grass and locally produced hay? It's a gray fall day, but the view from the deck of the farm house is still pretty good. You can really see the trees we have planted along the Raft River starting to get big. Some were planted 20 years ago now, and they are starting to provide needed shade for the spawning salmon. Happy fall everybody.

You can be as cute as you want, but it doesn't mean you can walk on ice.
