With placement of the winter covers the 2020 beekeeping season is now officially over. Lost one hive in the fall. The queen likely succumbed to the varroa destructor treatment. If she was that week it really made no difference. Winter wouldn't have been survivable. Two of the remaining hives have smaller clusters, so they might not make it through either. Such is life in the honeybee world. Nothing I can do for them now. Our time of honey production in North Dumfries is over. Next spring will be a whole new ballgame, starting with a move to Brockton.

The September harvest is packed and available for purchase. Total weight harvested in 2020 is 428 kg. A great second place finish for the last year of operations in North Dumfries Township.

The August harvest is now available for sale. A very good year, so far, as total eight harvested to date is 306kg. Should be a significant amount harvested this month but I still likely won't beat my 2016 record harvest of 473kg.
