Who took you canoeing for the first time? . . If memory correctly serves, my godmother, Auntie Marilyn took me on my first paddle on Carson Lake. Until then, I had only known the tiny sheltered cove - worlds open in more ways than one, when you leave the bay. Although fourty years(really?) have past, I remember the feeling of gliding and the taste of freedom.... She taught me so many things, offering many first experiences.
