Creative Drifts

Quite a few years back, my parents brought home from their visit to their home town in China, a hand engraved stamp with my Chinese name on it. I’ve just recently remembered I had it and decided to use it to stamp it on my art works. So from now on, my works will have both my Chinese and my English names. I really love the idea of incorporating my Asian heritage into my work. It hasn’t always been this way. As an immigrant to Canada at a young age, I wanted to fit into the C...anadian culture and put aside my Chinese background. I’ve grown up and realized the importance of my heritage and that there’s nothing wrong with embracing both cultures. This one is taking a bit of time. Been tired from work and appointments, so haven’t been painting much. But it’s progressing. When I do pick up a brush, I am transported into my creative world and that is one of my happy places. But sometimes life gets in the way of that.
