The Madoc Lions Club is taking a tiny break this month. The Omicron virus is ripping through the area. We all need to stay healthy in order to keep serving this wonderful community. We are still doing "behind the scenes" efforts with other local organizations but we plan to start back in February with either a take-out breakfast or dinner...stay tuned. There could be a surprise event as well. In the meantime we are looking for volunteers always. Feel free to message us here at any time, if you have any questions or concerns and we will accommodate you with answers, invites, whatever makes you comfortable.

Madoc Lions joined in to help Emma and Andrew who were collecting food and other items for the Grace Inn Homeless Shelter in Belleville. Lion Tom started with a personal donation of McDonalds gift cards. Madoc Lions sent what was left over from the Christmas Dinner Event.... Potatoes, Turkey, Gravy, Cranberry Sauce, Butter, Ham. These two kids Emma and Andrews with the support of their parents Jamie and Mark raised $1,640 and 40 boxes of clothes, boxes of food and many other items . Way to go Emma and Andrew. Wow, busy day preparing over 100 Christmas Dinners for the Community. Take out and deliveries. 8 Turkeys later with lots of vegetables, dressing, gravy and cranberry sauce. Once again thanks to Sheldon and Madill's Contracting for the donation of 2- 47lb Turkeys. ... Lion Cliff on the Turkeys, Lion Tom, Carl, on prep with Lions friend Jan. Lots of take outs Lion Rob kept busy with the deliveries. Lion Pauline and Lion Lee took a delivery out to north of Tweed to a deserving elderly lady who lives on her own. So the end of 2020 is near but the Madoc Lions were kept busy on the last day. Hospice House called to ask for a delivery of a Hospital Bed to Stirling to help make Al comfortable. Of course Lion Tom and Lion Carl did not hesitate with the help of Student Liam who is working on his community hours. ... Betty and Laurie were thankful for the delivery. Lion Rob and Jr. Lion Jimmy made a delivery of a Fruit Basket to put a smile on Rick's face battling cancer at home. Rick's sister accepting the basket. Lion Tom and Lion Janet finished the year off by making a delivery of another Fruit Basket for Barb who is also battling cancer at home. Barb's daughter accepting the basket.
