However you choose to do Halloween this year we hope you have a fantastic time doing it!
Thanksgiving is a special time of year to reflect and share what we are thankful for. This year has been incredibly difficult for so many. We may not have made it this far without you and your support.... So for us at Mad Science, we want to share our genuine appreciation of you. Our success this year will be greatly measured by the trust we gained from you. THANK YOU.
Here's a super fun science experiment you can do with your Jack-O'-Lantern's when Halloween is over! Who doesn't love a little gross-ology?! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NrwpyNSi88

Most people are scared of wasps and wonder what good they do. Maybe this video will help us appreciate them (except for when they visit us while eating outside ).
Monday Fun Fact: Did you know that Mars has the largest volcano of any planet in the entire solar system? It’s true! The mountain is called Olympus Mons and it stands 25km tall and is over 600km in diameter. #madscienceyyc #curriculumlinkedworkshops ... #sparkingimaginativelearning #scienceisfun See more
Fun Friday Fact. This year Earth Science Week is Oct 11-17. Did you know that Earth is not a perfect sphere? It’s actually more of a squashed sphere, called an oblate spheroid. This is because several forces, including gravity, cause the planet to bulge at the equator. #EarthScienceWeek #madscienceyyc #earthworks... #curriculumlinkedworkshops #sparkingimaginativelearning See more
Who can’t love this? Hope all our Jr. Mad Scientists are having a wonderful weekend while making their own memories.
Want to learn more about clouds? Book a Mad Science Walloping Weather workshop!
Dance is not only fun - it also helps you age gracefully. According to a study in The New England Journal of Medicine, dancing may boost your memory and prevent you from developing dementia as you get older. Science reveals that aerobic exercise can reverse volume loss in the hippocampus, the part of the brain that controls memory. The hippocampus naturally shrinks during late adulthood, which often leads to impaired memory and sometimes dementia. So get out there and get dancing!!!!
Fall is officially here .
DID YOU KNOW?.... One of the things that make Barn Owls incredible hunters is their precise hearing. Barn Owls have asymmetrical ears, meaning one ear is higher than the other. Depending on which side a sound hits first or on which side a sound is louder, Barn Owls can pinpoint the exact direction it’s coming from, even under foliage or snow! This year in summer camp, our Jr. Mad Scientists dissected owl pellets and discovered bones of voles, birds and even snakes!... #scienceisfun #madscienceyyc #sparkingimaginativelearning #allaboutanimalsworkshop #inclassworkshops See more
