It's an importa...nt one, cases in BC shot up by 102 this weekend, the largest hike yet. Those are the kick from Canada Day weekend Jul 1-6 festivities. Most are in the 20-39 age group, many in the interior, from bars, restaurants, resorts, house and houseboat parties. That group is the least likely to follow recommendations, and has been shouldering a disproportionate part of the economic burden for the safety measures according to the survey data she presented (see the longer briefing from Dr. Henry for details). The R factor has shot up above 1 and the transmission is growing, not receeding. This seems like a crucial inflection point, and her message stresses that. In any case, please heed her warnings, and please pass on this message from her to amplify it.
