Great news about e.max! Our friends at Ivoclar have shared some very interesting research about their IPS e.max crowns (Lithium Disilicate) and we in turn wanted to share it with you. After over 10 years of continuous quality testing, IPS e.max Lithium Disilicate produces an average biaxial flexural strength of 500MPa. Previously, IPS e.max has been stated to have a minimum design specification biaxial flexural strength of 360MPa. Because of these proven strength values, Ivoclar Vivadent is now recommending as little as 1.0mm reduction for IPS e.max minimally invasive restorations when adhesively cemented.
