Magic Show Fundraiser

Although I can take active steps to help provide for the physical safety of those who volunteer during the course of my show, I'm much more concerned about the HUNDREDS of people who sit in the audience. Large gatherings of this nature completely go against the advice of "social distancing" where people are encouraged to maintain a distance of at least one meter from each other. Although schools continue to need funds, the relatively small amounts we raise at these shows cannot be balanced against the need to safeguard our communities. Again, the purpose for these shows was to bring communities together; not to put them at risk. I have one more show next week before spring break, but I am seriously considering postponing shows for the remainder of the school term. I invite any thoughts and comments you many have. Thanks!

I realize there is much fear within the community because of the coronavirus. If anyone chooses not to come out to a show as a result of the virus, I fully respect that decision. Hopefully, they will still buy some tickets anyways, just to show their support for the school. Similarly, if a school should choose not to have the fundraiser show in order to protect the students, staff and the community, I fully respect that decision as well. We can certainly reschedule the sh...ow for a later date. You see, these shows are all about the schools, the children and the community. This isn't about personal profit and I have no ego to bruise. So, I invite everyone to have this conversation with their PAC. I will support whatever decision is made in each and every case. Having said that, I have made some modifications in an attempt to safeguard everyone who shares the stage with me. In each and every case where a volunteer is needed, I will have them take a Lysol wipe and a paper towel to clean and wipe their hands. This will not be optional. In addition to this, I have re-staged several routines so as to minimize any physical contact with the volunteer. I've even gone so far as to eliminate one routine in its entirety. All of this has been done to protect the physical well being of everyone helping out with the show, but just as importantly, it's also for the psychological well being of everyone watching the show. I want everyone to know that I share their concerns and that I'm doing everything I can to address them. Thank you.

What a wonderful evening at Corpus Christi School! So many tickets were sold, they had to bring in extra chairs and, even then, it was standing room only. Globa...l Television even came out to catch some of the excitement! It was a privilege to get to know the families, teachers and administrators in this amazing community. And in the process, we raised thousands of dollars for the school! THIS WAS A GOOD DAY! See more
