Just booked a wedding group to the Ocean Riviera Paradise for May. This resort was WestJet Vacations best seller on the Maya Riviera in 2019. Ocean Riviera Paradise makes for a great vacation and a perfect place to host a destination wedding. Magical Trips by Jaime Murphy

During these unprecedented times, our hearts are aching for this amazing world we love so much. We are doing everything in our power to help our clients as qui...ckly and efficiently as possible. The biggest challenge is how quickly things are changing. Many suppliers are offering flexible, close to travel change policies. Having flexible change policies close to travel seems to be allowing people to avail of the best change/cancel policy for their trip. Keep in mind once you move/cancel your trip, it can not be undone. This is important as there have been situations where bonus offers, or refunds are being given closer to travel, because trips are being outright cancelled by the supplier. Just because a supplier is forced to cancel your trip due to the government warning, does not mean they are required to give you a refund. For a lot of these companies, a refund is just not an option. We are hearing people say, especially on social media, your travel agent has to refund you. In the majority of the cases, travel agents in Canada, actually have not charged you anything or very little for their professional services, thus have nothing to refund you. Most travel agents typically get paid by suppliers after you travel, which is not happening right now. In most cases the supplier charged your card directly for your trip whether you used an agent or booked direct. If you have travel cancelation insurance, check with them, as it is possible you may qualify for a refund of your vacation through your insurance company. There could be restrictions based on the date the policy was purchased or how soon your trip is if you are cancelling because of Covid-19. Some insurance companies are asking those to wait to closer to travel to cancel; which is typically the opposite of the norm - but this is certainly not a normal situation, they may not pay out a claim if you cancel to early - so it is best to be sure. If you do not have travel insurance, talk to the credit card company you paid your trip with. They sometimes have insurances for cancelations, if governments places travel restrictions or if a company goes bankrupt, etc... You may have coverage that way.
