QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Class 1 Driver’s License, 3 years minimum Valid Alberta Class 1 MELT and Class 3 Driver Instructor License Verifiable Class 1 driving instruction... Air Brake Instructor Certification is an asset, but not required Excellent communication skills The ability to teach in both a classroom and a practical environment OR Possess a valid Alberta Class I Driver’s License for a minimum of at least three years Be willing to train and attend required instructor certification in Edmonton or Calgary Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills Must have the ability to instruct in a classroom or practical environment Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings or weekends Successful applicants must be able to supply: Must provide a 5-year Commercial Driver’s Abstract Current criminal records check dated within 90 days Driver’s abstract with no suspensions or cancellations and no more than 6 demerits within 2 years (for non-instructor applicants) We are looking for someone who is personable, knowledgeable, responsible and professional. You must understand basic driving rules, regulations and highway safety laws. Be willing to keep up to date on all changes in legislation. Work well in stressful situations and be able to adapt and problem solve. SCHEDULE: Full time, Part time, Contract (20-40 hrs. a week)
