We were honoured to provide the schematic design that formed the basis for the upcoming motion Making Housing Options for Middle Income Earners heading to Council this coming week. By making small changes to the existing Zoning Bylaw, we can create enhanced affordability for homebuyers while still maintaining the character of our neighbourhoods. The design, pictured here, is a 4-unit front building with a 2 unit lane building with a front yard and a backyard. Betcha couldn’t tell. #mahgarchitects #housingforall

Dominates its surroundings, too tall, too many parking stalls, dwarfs the modest apartment buildings adjacent, doesn’t fit the character of the neighbourhood, shadows,argh! , said no one ever about these gorgeous, massive heritage homes on East 10th between Yukon & Cambie. Modern versions of same height and mass no longer permitted. This City is hard to comprehend.

This is just stack of documentation to fulfill the requirements for @cityofvancouver Building Permit. Never mind the drawings. It feels like a massive accomplishment, because it is. But we can’t help but wonder: should it be? Anyway, hurray for @tomospaces @ouv_vancouver . Finally, one step closer. #mahgarchitects #housingforall #cohousing
