Daily Advent Reflection from Bishop Albert Thévenot for Tuesday, December 22, 2020. The Magnificat that we find in the Gospel of today is a beautiful prayer rec...ited every evening. Like Mary, we wish to give thanks to the Lord for his blessings on us. The prayer explains how the mission of Christ is there for us to proclaim. As we proclaim and give witness to the mission of Christ, we are called to transform this world where we live respecting one another in justice and peace. See more

Daily Advent Reflection from Bishop Albert Thévenot, M. Afr. for Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Jesus has always been a question mark for others. Even John the B...aptist was wondering if Jesus was the one to come. Who or what kind of Messiah were they expecting? Jesus did not seem to follow all the laws and yet he was talking about forgiveness. Some people are for Jesus while others are against. What are your expectations? Jesus gives signs of his presence as saviour. Who is Jesus here for? How do you know that he is in our midst? See more

Daily Advent Reflection from Bishop Albert Thévenot, M. Afr. for Tuesday, December 15, 2020. The Prophet Zephaniah tells us in the reading of today, I will cha...nge the speech of the peoples (Zep 3: 2). I do not know how you feel when you talk to people and they have nothing positive to say about almost everything and everybody. These people just seem to drain all the energy out of me. They may be a friend or an acquaintance. You hate to tell them but on the other hand this cannot be a good relationship for anybody. What do you do? You have to be honest with them. Tell them. Without knowing it, they are destroying people lives and creating a bad spirit in your midst. You begin to resent them. Is this love of neighbour? See more

Daily Advent Reflection from Bishop Albert Thévenot for M. Afr. Sunday, December 13, 2020. Rejoice Sunday! Be happy today. Be a source of Good News to one anoth...er. God has a dream and a plan. He wants you to be part of it. What can you do? Pray and help the down-hearted people. Share a smile, or just say ‘hi’ to everyone. They may look at you and say that the pandemic is affecting you. It is, and that is why you are saying hi! Wish them a Merry Christmas. Help them experience the JOY of the coming season. See more
