Parents of our MAINSTREET KIDS, we miss our kids but hope you are enjoying some time at home with your children and enjoying some Growing Up Wild curriculum activities. We got these AMI activities from a nature-based early childhood program from the Council for Environmental Education and Project Wild. Several years ago I attended a workshop in Little Rock at the Arkansas Game and Fish Headquarters and I fell in love with it. I try to incorporate it into our other curri...culum but this is the perfect opportunity to take bigger advantage of it. Not only are your children learning about their native wildlife but you can be assured it is in alignment with the The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Children Accreditation , Headstart Domains, and Arkansas Benchmarks. We had a good day visiting the Senior Center, seeing Santa and Mrs Clause, caroling and playing special games in our centers.

We had an action packed day at preschool (actually we do every day) ! We made Christmas cards for the ladies and gentleman at the Senior Citizens Center, gave them an original Mainstreet Kids cook book and sang some Christmas songs to them. We also seen Santa and Mrs Clause and Shirley Mayor Lisa Hackett.

We had a great morning eating breakfast with our tribe. The kids love to show off their families.

If your child was 2 by August 1, 2019 we are taking applications for the next school year. We have very limited slots as most of our students this year will still be with us next year. Come by either location and pick up an application to ensure your child will be able to attend. We also still have some free and paying slots available for this year. Mainstreet Kids Clinton is proud to announce our teaching staff for the new year in our Arkansas Better Chance for School Success classroom. Donna Biggs is our... lead teacher and holds a Bachelor of Professional Studies Early Childhood Education and is working on her Masters. She has 4 years experience in special education and three years with preschoolers. Tessa has an Associates Degree and is working on her teaching degree. She has been caring for children for 6 years. We are excited about our new school year. We congratulate Kallista Rushing for earning her Early Childhood Education certificate. Way to go Kallista!

Mainstreet Kids staff enjoyed several training sessions at the 49th Annual State Early Childhood Confrence. Where one of our teachers Mrs. Shauna Rushing was a guest speaker asked to present a session over Exploring and Discovering with Seesaw in the Preschool classroom and share her teaching methods with other Early Childhood Educators!!

Tomorrow is Mainstreet Kids in Shirley Open House from 9-6. If you have stopped by or called the centers we apologize we have been out of town at the State Early Childhood Conference!
