In 2020, people have begun to realize the importance of nature for both their physical and mental wellbeing. However our natural areas, forests, rivers and lakes are under stress from a rapidly changing climate. By investing in the Restoring the Maitland Campaign, you can help us to restore forests, wetlands and stream corridors to improve the health of the Maitland and Nine Mile watersheds. Conservation Areas are experiencing a huge upsurge in use by the public this year. T...here are many natural areas that need to be restored within the Conservation Areas around the watershed. We have a campaign goal of $100,000 in 2020. Tim MacDonald has already pledged $50,000 towards this goal. We hope that you will also consider investing in The Restoring the Maitland Campaign so that we can reach our goal by December 31, 2020.

It looks like the JHETF committee had a great day at Lake Wawanosh Conservation Area last week.

Congratulations to Kriss Snell who was elected as the MCF chair at our recent Annual Meeting. Kate Procter was elected as the MCF Vice Chair. We are looking forward to a great year ahead.

The Maitland Conservation Foundation Annual Meeting originally planned for Thursday March 19th is postponed. We will let everyone know when the meeting is rescheduled.
