A Major Journey 01.01.2021

It's been a long, long time since I've posted. That's 100% on me. Why? Because I've been failing, and for me, that's a hard pill to swallow, and to admit. Over the past few months I've put back on nearly 40lbs of the 150 i've lost. Mainly because i've been lazy and haven't been keeping up with my exercise, but also because i have been sick for the last few months with pneumonia and more fun things that's kept me away from the gym and exercising....Continue reading

WOW! Today marks my 1year surgiversary! Hard to believe that 1 year has passed and how much I and my life has changed in that short time. Stats:... Heaviest Weight: 377 lbs Surgery Weight: 312 lbs Current Weight: 229lbs with roughly 22lbs of 'extra' skin. How about some other neat stats: BMI Change: 23.75 now classified as "Obese Class 1" - i was classified as "walking dead" i think. Inches lost: 77.25", including 17 off my chest and waist. My neck was 23.5" now I can fit into a size 17 shirt. I said goodbye to so much negativity in my life. Became a Professional Life and Transformational Coach, working towards becoming a Master (Certified) Coach. There's just so much that I would love to say. But I will keep this short by saying, I did it! I did it for the right reason; me. #irock #newlife #selfhigh5

A Major Journey 28.11.2020

One year ago, I was preparing for surgery by 14 days of liquid diet. 4 shakes per day, no more than 2 cups of (mostly) green veggies, and the occasional cup of low fat/sodium broth. One year ago today, marks the 1 year anniversary of the last day I injected any insulin (I was taking 3); took any blood pressure meds or any other of my so called "you need it to live" meds. Today also marks day 4 of the pre-op diet which was emotionally, the hardest on/for everyone connected wit...h me. A day full of tears, questions, hurt, and gut checking. My kids made me realize why I was doing it all, and that was all that was required. They didn't need to say anything. The look on their face when they saw me so upset is one that will help me through any tough time. That day, that moment one year ago when they looked at me and I had a choice; give up and likely die, or show them what strong is and pull through and say no. I said no. I know not everyone here reads my personal FB profile or follows my other social channels, so today, I am 151# lighter; stronger; happier and I just need to visualize my kids faces and I can pull through anything.

Dumping Syndrome and how much it sucks! Very rough night for me last night. I ate too much and of the wrong things (apparently) as a result, had the worst case of "dumping syndrome" i've ever experienced (see symptoms at the bottom of this post) Dinner wasn't all that much - a few meatballs, veg and a small scoop of potatoes (about the equiv of 1/4 to 1/2 of a tater IMHO). I was ok (mostly) at that point. Then i made the mistake or having some of a cinnamon bun. BAD boo boo...Continue reading

I've been a little bit busy of late, between work, my continued training/education towards my Coaching Master (MCCP designation), bowling, coaching, and being a husband and father. Been having a lot of issues lately with things of late. I have found myself a few times reverting to old/bad habits. Not necessarily with food/exercise, but my attitudes towards specific people and types of people. Many moons ago, I made it my mission to add positive value to the lives of peopl...Continue reading
