Jerome is an associate with Roebothan McKay Marshall with over 30 years of legal experience. In his time at our firm, Jerome has built a practice focused in Personal Injury, Civil Litigation, Corporate-Commercial, and Criminal Law. Especially passionate about wrongful convictions, Jerome helped prove the innocence of Gregory Parsons and Ronald Dalton at the 2005 Lamer Inquiry into Wrongful Convictions in Newfoundland and Labrador. He has argued over 50 appeals, including six at the Supreme Court of Canada. Needless to say, Jerome believes in Justice, with a capital J.

Natalie is a partner with Roebothan McKay Marshall with over 12 years of legal experience. Originally from Manitoba, Natalie moved to Newfoundland almost 15 years ago and has built a legal practice focused on Personal Injury, Civil Litigation, Real Estate, Wills and Estates, and Labour and Employment Law. An active member in the local community, Natalie currently runs an after-school sports program, coaches Ultimate Frisbee and sits as the Atlantic representative on the Ultimate Canada Development Committee (the National sport organization for Ultimate Frisbee). In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, hiking, practicing her Spanish and participating in Latin dance competitions.

A tireless scholar, John is currently completing his Master of Laws in Intellectual Property at Osgoode Hall Law School. He’s an active member of the arts community; performs pro bono work for local female filmmakers; served as president of the NL Folk Arts Society; and is currently chair of the board of the award winning theatre company Artistic Fraud of Newfoundland Inc. In his spare time, John is most often found practicing yoga.

Valerie is a partner with Roebothan McKay Marshall with almost 20 years of legal experience. She has proven skills in Personal Injury, Civil Litigation, Corporate Commercial, and ample experience in mediation, administrative tribunals and all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Apart from her work as a lawyer, Valerie is dedicated to her family, friends and the community. Many times in the past, Roebothan McKay Marshall has relied on the support of our community, and it has never failed us. Today, we have decided to give back: We have donated $10,000 to VOCM’s Share to Care Food Drive in support of the Community Food Sharing Association after the devastating fire at their warehouse. Stephen is an associate lawyer with Roebothan McKay Marshall. After completing his education at Memorial University (B.A., 2012) and the University of New Brunswick (Juris Doctor, 2016), Stephen was called to the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar in 2017. Currently building a practice focused in Personal Injury, Civil Litigation, Wills and Estates, and Real Estate, Stephen is passionate about fighting for his clients. Outside of work, Stephen’s time is spent with his wife, Susan, or enjoying his favorite sports, which include golf, hockey, and football.

Sophie is an associate lawyer with Roebothan McKay Marshall with over five years of legal experience. After earning her Juris Doctor on a full scholarship to Dalhousie University, Sophie received the Penney Award in Family Lawthe Provincial Court Judges' Association Award in Criminal Lawas well as the Hunt Award for highest overall average in the 2013 Bar Admission Course Examinations. Since then, Sophie has been building a practice focused on Personal Injury, Family Law, Wills and Estates, Estate Litigation, and Real Estate. Outside of the office, Sophie enjoys spending time with family and catching the latest series on Netflix.

Julie is an associate lawyer with Roebothan McKay Marshall. After interning at the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, Julie chose to article with Roebothan McKay Marshall and learn from the province’s most experienced law firm. Since being called to the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar in January of 2018, Julie has developed a practice focused on Personal Injury, Wills and Estates, Real Estate, and Civil Litigation. Outside of the office, Julie enjoys running, hiking, and travelling.

Hilary is an associate lawyer with Roebothan McKay Marshall with over five years of legal experience. While completing her education at Memorial University (B.A. Hons., 2010), Hilary received the Millennium Scholarship Foundation National Level Award, and the Law Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador Essay Award. From there, Hilary completed her Juris Doctor at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, and an exchange program at the University of Houston Law Centre. Amanda is an associate lawyer with Roebothan McKay Marshall. After being called to the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar in 2012, Amanda developed a practice focused on achieving justice for Personal Injury clients. Outside of the courtroom, Amanda puts her compassion to great use as a board member for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and as a volunteer with the Humane Society and St. John’s SPCA. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her two Labrador retrievers.

The Paradise Warriors Novice Select team won gold this past weekend in the Avalon Celtics Novice Invitational Tournament after an undefeated season. As a team sponsor, we were happy to give the team and coaches a place to meet between games, and also provide them with practice jerseys so they could look as good as they played. On behalf of the team, coaches, team manager and parents, we would like to thank everyone for supporting these young athletes.

We’ve been partnered with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary to promote road safety with our texting/driving simulator since 2012. It’s very encouraging to see that vehicle accidents have decreased by almost 25% during that time.
