And a special thank you to Mike Plaisier and Jon Finc...h for organizing the last minute production of the bookends and a shout out to John Landstra for organizing the production team so that the doors could be made and delivered to the back on time despite being extremely busy with customer projects. Bravo team! #opentoextraordinary

Today we remember all those who fought for our freedom or as we say in Masonite Kept the Door Open for us and give thanks. How the Poppy became associated with Remembrance Day There are three people who are associated with creating the Poppy Campaign: John McCrae, Moina Michael and Anne Guerin. John McCrae famously wrote the poem "In Flanders Fields" in 1915 after noticing how the poppies quickly grew around the fresh graves at a funeral for another soldier. Three years later in New York, Moina Michael read "In Flanders Fields" and pledged that she would wear a red poppy as a way of "keeping the faith with all who died." Do you check the fire labels on the doors when you stay at a hotel to see who made them. I do!! Stumbled upon a great project with Maiman Stile and Rail Doors this week at Drury Hotel in Cleveland. The building is an old education office building converted to a hotel. Stunning marble floors and of course doors! Drury is a historic renovation of the long-vacant Board of Education building built in 1931. The new hotel, the Drury Plaza Hotel Cleveland Downtown, took two years to preserve and renovate.
