What a crazy time we are living in right now. It's absolutely mind blowing how the world has come to a halt, a stark reminder of how fragile we actual are. That said, many of us are lucky enough to be "stuck" at home with our loved ones, our basic needs still being met. Hopefully you are keeping busy, sane and healthy. To the woman breaking glass ceilings, who shows up to work at 7 am so she can bring her daughter to ballet at 4. To the one who sacrificed a career so her husband's business could flourish and her kids could spend less time in the care of others and more time at home. To the woman pursuing a Master's degree while breastfeeding her infant and getting no more than 3 consecutive hours of sleep. To the one who's poured her heart and soul into the business she's started from the basement of her home and the one who's left her home to start over in a new city...a new country. To the single mother trying make ends meat and stay strong for her family. To every woman living in a world where everything and nothing is expected of her simultaneously, we love and cherish you! #HappyInternationalWomensDay

#TBT to 2011 when we bought our second home. It was one street over from our first in Montreal's West Island. We put in an offer without visiting the place and it was a colossal dump! Both our moms cried when they saw it for the first time. But, with a little vision and a lot of hard work we turned the place around. In addition to gutting it completely, we added a 100 square foot extension. This allowed us to bring the facade forward and gave us extra space for three large bedrooms. Once again, we flipped it a year later for a significant return.

Construction of Montreal's REM (Réseau express métropolitain or yet, rapid transit system). This automated, electric light rail network will span 67 kilometers and include 26 stations connecting the West-Island, South Shore and North Shore to downtown Montreal. The first trains are expected to start running in 2021 from the South Shore to Bonaventure-Central Station. The remaining networks will follow gradually in 2022-2023. With service planned 20 hours/day and 7 days/week along with connections to the city's existing metro system, the light rail is expected to make commute from Montreal's suburbs faster, more efficient and, here's hoping, reliable.
